Thank you all for your hard work and patience with me. :-) DOWNLOAD List of New Features LATEST NEWS [8/18/2004]: The following applications have just been released: IcePref2 3.4, IcePref2 Theme Designer 3.2, PhrozenClock 3.2, IceSoundManager 3.2, GtkPCCard 1.6, and IceWMCP Tray Icon Plug-in 0.2 Download INSTALLATION RPM Packages: If you downloaded any of my RPM packages (usually with file names ending in 'noarch.rpm'), you can install them the same way as any other RPM package, by executing 'rpm -ivh [rpm_file_name]'. If you already have an older version of one of my packages installed on your system, you can install the newer package with the command 'rpm -Uvh [rpm_file_name]'. NOTE: If you get error messages about not having 'icewm', 'python', or 'pygtk' installed on your system and you are SURE that you have them all properly installed, try installing the RPM using the command 'rpm -Uvh --force --nodeps [rpm_file_name]'. (This is a minor problem that occurs from time to time due to the fact that my system may name the dependency 'icewm', while your system may name it 'IceWM', etc. If you are certain you have all of the required software packages properly installed, it's not a real problem.) Alternatively, you may install RPM packages with a GUI utility such as KPackage, GnoRPM, or XRPM. After installing IceWMControlPanel, you should be able to run the program by executing '/usr/X11R6/bin/IceWMCP'. After downloading a tarball package, extract the package to a directory of your choice, with the command 'tar -xjf [tar_ball_file_name]' or 'tar -xIf [tar_ball_file_name]'. You can also use a GUI utility such as GnoZip or File-Roller to extract the tarball. After you have extracted all files from your downloaded tarball, install the application by running either 'PyInstallShield' or 'INSTALL-ME.sh' in the directory you extracted the files to. That's it!. A nice GUI will start, guiding you through the rest of the installation. Follow the simple instructions in PyInstallShield and you're on your way. NOTE: NO support is provided for people installing from 'tarball' packages, as I code for well-known, RPM-capable Linux versions such as Mandrake, RedHat, and Suse, so I cannot provide tech support to every single person using obscure or irregular Unix systems. Also, adding PyInstallShield will be my LAST attempt to make tarballs that are 'cross-platform', as I really don't have time to try and code and package for every single obscure Linux/Unix system in the universe, when the 'mv' and 'cp' commands ALSO put the files where you want them. After installing IceWMControlPanel, you should be able to run the program by executing 'IceWMCP'. The software is FREE, so stop whining! The full IceWMControlPanel-[version].tar.bz2 package should create the following executables in the executable path you have selected AFTER you have run 'PyInstallShield':IceWMCP IceWMCP-Keyboard IceWMCP-Mouse IceWMCP-PySpool IceWMCP-Wallpaper IceWMCP-WinOptions PhrozenClock IceSoundManager GtkPCCard iceme icepref icepref-td IceWMCP-Icons uninstall-icewm-control-panel In addition, if you've installed the IceWMCP-System plug-in, the executable for the plug-in will be named 'IceWMCP-System'.Static Binary Packages: Static binary packages are now in .tar.bz2 file format. After downloading a tarball package, extract the package to a directory of your choice, with the command 'tar -xjf [tar_ball_file_name]' or 'tar -xIf [tar_ball_file_name]'. You can also use a GUI utility such as GnoZip or File-Roller to extract the tarball. You may then run the application immediately by executing the 'icewmcp' executable in that directory.
