Haw was a burly ruckman sought by that joined Melbourne instead. He missed seven weeks in his first season when he suffered a knee injury in the Round 10 win over South Melbourne but returned to play in the finals. Trained at side Brighton in the <1929> pre-season but returned to Melbourne.
Haw was cleared to Northcote before the <1930> season, and received a permit to play with in June of the same year but never appeared in a senior game for them. He was back at Northcote in <1931>.
