Notes:
Commodore, Rear Admiral R. M. King was in Elisabeth Bakke, Vice Commodore was Captain Sir A. L. Owens, R.N.R. in Macharda.
The Rescue Vessel Rathlin was on her 19th voyage as such, having started this voyage from Clyde on May 19-1944 with the westbound Convoy ON 237, to Halifax June 1, then returned to Clyde with Convoy HX 295, June 12-June 24. Her next voyage was with Convoy JW 59 from Loch Ewe to Kola, returning with Convoy RA 60 - see my Arctic Convoys page ("Convoy Rescue Ships 1940-1945", Arnold Hague).
Commodore's notes are not available - escorts not known.
All the Norwegian ships in this convoy are discussed on this website - use alphabet index below to find them.
