Notes:
Additionally, the Rescue Vessel Fastnet (requisitioned June 14-1943) sailed with this convoy. She was on her 7th voyage as such, having started this voyage from Clyde with the westbound Convoy ON 251 on Sept. 1-1944, to Halifax Sept. 17 - returning with HX 310 from Halifax Sept. 23, to Clyde Oct. 5. ("Convoy Rescue Ships", Arnold Hague). On the westbound voyage she had taken on board the survivors from the Norwegian Fjordheim, this being the only rescue (related to enemy action) she was involved with - follow link for details. Her next eastbound voyage was with Convoy HX 318.
Commodore, Rear Admiral A. R. Smithwick was in Norwegian Reinholt, Vice Commodore was G. E. Sutcliff, R.N. in Norwegian Høyanger. Commodore's notes are not available.
Please note that more information on all the Norwegian ships listed in this convoy can be found with the help of the index below.
