The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) leads and inspires the world to achieve its shared vision of zero new HIV infections, zero discrimination and zero AIDS-related deaths. UNAIDS unites the efforts of 11 UN organizations—UNHCR, UNICEF, WFP, UNDP, UNFPA, UNODC, UN Women, ILO, UNESCO, WHO and the World Bank—and works closely with global and national partners towards ending the AIDS epidemic by 2030 as part of the Sustainable Development Goals. #EndAIDS

  The 55th UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board (PCB) meeting will take place in Nairobi this December, focused on the theme of “Addressing inequalities affecting children and adolescents with HIV”. In preparation, UNAIDS held discussions with PCB Chair, Principal Secretary Harry Kimtai, to align on key priorities and opportunities for the meeting and upcoming field visits. Thank you Kenya for your commitment to advancing inclusive HIV response strategies, for championing the importance of a unified global effort to end AIDS by 2030, and for hosting the PCB in Nairobi.

These changes are essential for the continued sustainability of the global HIV response. Special thanks to UNESCO for chairing the Committee this year and to Filippo Grandi of UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency for leading the meeting in New York.
