Bluetooth technology has become an integral part of this modern society. The availability of mobile phones, game controllers, Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) and personal computers has made Bluetooth a popular technology for short range wireless communication. However, as the Bluetooth technology becomes widespread, vulnerabilities in its security protocols are increasing which can be potentially dangerous to the privacy of a user’s personal information. The security issues of Bluetooth have been an active area of research for the last few years. This paper presents the vulnerabilities in the security
protocols of this technology along with some past security threats and possible countermeasures as reported in the literatures which have been surveyed and summarized in this paper. It also presents some tips that end-users can implement immediately to become more cautious about their private information. Finally, the paper concludes with some recommendations for future security enhancements that can be implemented in the Bluetooth standard.

This project is based on the development of a chat application that makes use of Bluetooth rather than the internet in order to initiate chat conversation. Low-cost wireless connections and low-power are two of the most attractive features that are provided by Bluetooth and can be used in mobile devices and other accessories as well. This, therefore, provides an open standard for the implementation of a short range wireless communication. Bluetooth, when integrated into Android, which is a mainstream smart phone platform becomes a means of mobile communication. A large number of developers have been attracted to the Android design because it possesses the characteristics of both, open sourcing and powerful application AP I. The purpose of this project is to explore the concept of a chat room designed on the basis of Bluetooth. The aim is to analyse the architecture of the Android platform and introduce the process of implementing the Bluetooth communication in detail. We eventually proceed to design and implement the concept of a chat room based on Bluetooth by making use of API’s of Android platform.

The solution is intended to offer numerous benefits, in terms of ease of use, and enhanced dynamic interactive functionality. A comparative analysis will be carried out between this work and existing solutions. The evolution of lighting and gesture controls will be discussed and an overview of alternative applications will be provided, as part of the critical analysis.

Micro-location is the process of locating any entity with high accuracy (possibly in centimeters), while geofencing is the process of creating a virtual fence around a so-called Point of Interest (PoI). In this paper, we present an insight into various micro-location enabling technologies and services. We also discuss how these can accelerate the incorporation of Internet of Things (IoT) in smart buildings. We argue that micro-location based location-aware solutions can play a significant role in facilitating the tenants of an IoT equipped smart building. Also, such advanced technologies will enable the smart building control system through minimal actions performed by the tenants. We also highlight the existing and envisioned services to be provided by using micro-location enabling technologies. We describe the challenges and propose some potential solutions such that micro-location enabling technologies and services are thoroughly integrated with IoT equipped smart building.

This paper presents an outdoor mobile robot that can be controlled remotely using an android phone. With the help of the sensors, the robot was programmed to navigate within the bounded field, detectthe motion in the surroundings and can also send an alarm. The robot was designed to be able to navigate to the flowerpots placed in the zone and dispense water to those pots.The robot has proved capable of watering a total of 600 ml to two different plants in a predefined area. The robot, if operating in a manual mode, can be used to remotely water plants in a radius of 9 meters. On top of this, it emits no carbon and produces no RoHS by-products and can thus be deemed 100% eco-friendly.

The Internet of Things (IoT) concept facilitates our life in many areas. One of the facilities provided in this area is undoubtedly condition monitoring. Unlike regular maintenance, IoT systems that perform continuous control operations can provide great advantages to the company with a warning that a serious failure will occur. It is a vital importance to determine defective bearings during the rotation of the power generating and power consuming machines without reaching the critical level. In this study; an experimental setup was created, and a Condition Monitoring Application (CMA) was performed in the laboratory environment which could monitor vibration, temperature, acoustic emission (AE), current and revolution measurements for ORS 6203 type defective bearing detection. In the designed test setup, a microcontroller platform used as a system brain, a direct current machine with a shaft mounted bearing, and miscellaneous sensors used such as 3-axis accelerometer that senses vibrations, a hall sensor module for revolution measure, a microphone module for AE detection, current and voltage sensor modules for power consumption measurement, contactless temperature sensor module for temperature measurement. CMA has been designed for monitoring of system via Bluetooth module. With the help of the microcontroller platform, the data collected from the sensors is transmitted wirelessly to the Android smartphone to be plotted and recorded. After the data exceeds certain thresholds, the control system is able to provide SMS and/or e-mail notification to the related maintenance team with the Android smartphone. Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA), Random Forest (RF), Support Vector Machine (SVM), k-Nearest Neighbor (kNN), and Decision Tree (DT) algorithms applied to the collected data and models were created. As a result of accuracy analysis over %96 success was achieved for all models.

The paper aims at the overall review of planning, development and thus fabrication of the multipurpose agriculture robot which is able to dig the soil, leveler to shut the mud, sprayer to spray water and fertilizer separately, these whole systems of the robot works with the battery, and therefore, the alternative energy. Quite 40% of the population within the planet chooses agriculture due to the first occupation, in recent year the autonomous vehicles within the agriculture has experienced increased interest. The vehicle consist of Relay switch and Bluetooth. This language input allows a user to interact with the robot which is familiar to most of the people. The agriculture robot works on solar energy. The advantages of these robots are hands-free, and fast data input operations. In the sector of agricultural autonomous vehicle, a concept is being developed to investigate if multiple light compact autonomous machine may be more efficient than traditional large tractors and human forces. Hence, the device is to be designed which helps farmers to beat the stated problem. It's geared toward increasing the productivity and reducing the labour involved, the robot is intended to execute the essential functions required to be administered within the farms.

Most of the physically disable individual satisfies their movement through motorized wheelchair. The scenario is unusual for the disables of developing countries because of their economic conditions. Moreover traditional powered wheelchair is not comfortable to all segments of the disable society because of their complexity. Several researchers have used sophisticated technologies to operate wheelchair such as voice controlled, head gesture controlled, remote controlled wheelchair for providing better flexibility. For being sophisticated technology Android is being used in mobile, TV or in smart watches.An app with mitigating required controlling facilities is implemented here that may provide a flexible movement of the certain disable community. This report resumes my 6 months end-of-studies internship at Alcatel-Lucent International as an Ethical Hacker for connected objects in the Device IOT Excellence Center.
It begins with briefly describing Alcatel-Lucent, its history, current status, and future plans. Then it continues to describe the Internet of things’ evolution and future estimations. Later on, I describe my internship environment, and proceed to summarize my missions and achievements from July to December 2015. These includes hacking some connected devices, analyzing the security of their protocols (Z-Wave, Sigfox, Lora, and Bluetooth), attacking the z-wave protocol (most used protocol in home automation). It also includes listing some of the existing Z-wave capable devices in the market today, their prices, advantages and limitations.
I also describe additional tasks and duties that I was in charge of, like scanning the internal network using the cyber security tool “Qualys”, hardening the servers’ security configuration using a “OS Hardening” solution, and organizing a 24 hours Hackathon.
At last, I finish up with talking about the experience I got, and how this internship exceeded my expectations and strained my skills.

Elektronik dünyasındaki gelişmeler her alanda olduğu gibi, giyilebilir teknolojiler alanında da yenilikleri beraberinde getirmektedir. Giyilebilir teknolojiler denildiğinde akla ilk gelen ürünler; akıllı saatler, akıllı bileklikler, akıllı gözlükler ve akıllı şapkalar olmaktadır. Bu teknolojik ürünler sayesinde aktivite kontrolü, hatırlatma, navigasyon ve hatta mobil uygulamalara erişim s ağlanabilmektedir. Akıllı telefon ile giyilebilir teknolojik ürün arasında kablosuz bağlantı yapılarak gerekli bilgilerin aktarımları iki yönlü sağlanabilmekte ve inovatif ürünler ortaya çıkmaktadır. Giyilebilir teknolojilerin insan hayatını kolaylaştırmasının yanı sıra şık ve dikkat çekici olması da önemlidir. Özellikle de bayanların tamamlayıcı aksesuar olarak kullandıkları, küpe ve kolye gibi takıların dikkat çekici olması tercih edilen bir durumdur. Bu çalışmada amaç küpe ve kolye gibi takıların elektronik olarak kontrol edilebilir hale getirilerek istenilen renk ve etkide ışık saçmalarını sağlamaktır. Böylece takı daha dikkat çekici olabilmektedir.
İnovatif yaklaşımlar sayesinde giyilebilir teknolojilerde; durum değişikliğinin tespiti, yeni komutların anlaşılabilmesi, uygun çıkışların verilebilmesi gibi elektronik giriş/çıkış kontrollerinin sağlanmasında, mikrodenetleyici platformları tercih edilmektedir. Bunun nedenlerinin başında amaca uygun olarak programlanabilmeleri ve düşük güç tüketimleri gelmektedir. Mikrodenetleyici platformları arasında günümüzün en popüler olanlarından bir tanesi Arduino platformudur. Arduino platformu, açık kaynak bir donanım olup geliştiriciye esneklik sağlaması ve küçük boyutlara sahip olmasından dolayı giyilebilir teknoloj ilerlerde rahatça kullanılabilmektedir. Arduino platformlarından giyilebilir teknolojiler için tasarlanmış modeli, Arduino Lilypad kartıdır. Düğme biçimli tasarımı sayesinde kıyafet ya da kumaşa kolay bir şekilde dikilebilmekte veya takı
tasarımı için ideal olabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Arduino Lilypad ile Neopixel Led teknolojisi bir araya getirilerek, takının kontrol edilebilir renkte ışık yayması sağlanmıştır. Batarya desteği ile enerjisi sağlanan elektronik takının, mobil cihaz ile kablosuz iletişimi için HM-10 bluetooth modülü kullanılmıştır. Kullanıcı tarafından tercih edilen renk ve

The didactic method of digital, game-based learning includes integrating educational content or learning standards into video games with the objective to engage pupils. The method combines instructional content with computer or video games and can be used with all subjects and at all ability levels. Exponents of digital game-based learning argue that it provides learning opportunities which involve learners in interactive teaching and encourages them to take part in the technological society of the 21st century. The necessity of digital, game-based learning arose in the last decades of the 20th century as worldwide improvements in innovation took place. Today's learners live their lives with easy access to technology. This paper discusses the need for, motivation for and adjustment of digital, game-based learning to meet the needs of contemporary and the future generations of learners. Specifically, a game prototype for pupils of 9 to 10 years of age was implemented and evaluated. A simple mathematical game was created to help children practice mathematical skills in a fun, logical, thoughtful, enjoyable, amusing and light-hearted way. The results of the evaluation showed that children were interested in using mobile devices to learn mathematics, and especially the multiplication table. During the study, children tried both to achieve positive results and enjoyed the game. Our findings indicate that using mobile-based games encourages a positive mental outlook in pupils toward mathematics, ensures their dynamic, noteworthy participation and supports the acquisition of mathematical knowledge.

Bluetooth is one of the most prevalent technologies available on mobile phones. One of the key questions how to harness this technology in an educational manner in universities and schools. This paper is about a Bluetooth quizzing system which will be used to administer quizzes to students of a university. The Bluetooth quizzing application consists of a server and client mobile Android application. It will utilize a queuing system to allow many clients to connect simultaneously to the server. When clients connect, they can register or choose the option to complete a quiz that the lecturer selected. Results are automatically sent when quiz is done from the client application. Data analysis can then be done to review the progress of students.

This paper studies the feasibility of using low-power wireless technologies such as Bluetooth, IEEE 802.15.4 and ZigBee in high-speed railway scenarios that involve bidirectional ground-to-train communication. The presented results have been obtained through experimental tests conducted at the Madrid-Barcelona high-speed rail line. A multiplatform communication system has been installed in a high-speed train, circulating at velocities up to 300 km/h, whereas autonomous devices have been disseminated along of the railway path to communicate with the onboard devices. The conclusions drawn from this work will be used as guidelines for the future implementation of autonomous communication platforms for high-speed rail connectivity.

Nowadays, Wireless Sensor Networks are
becoming ubiquitous and increasingly attract investigators to
focus on different aspects of them. In terms of localization
estimation system, location algorithm play an important role to
reach high accuracy. Many algorithms have been developed to
improve the accuracy of the system, but so far none has been able
to deliver complete satisfactory and reliable result. This paper
addresses a filter for smoothing the received signal strength
index (RSSI) based on Principle Component Analysis. To
enhance the accuracy of the system and overcome unwanted
signals, the proposed algorithm is utilized to reduce the noise for
triangulation localization approach instead of reducing the
database in fingerprint approach. Our algorithm divided each 10
received packets to a group and replaced a representative signal
for each group. A realistic demo system of the CC2430/CC2431
has been implemented in the fifth floor of Xi’an JiaotongLiverpool
University to represent the feasibility and accuracy of
our algorithm. The results show the enhancement in localization
accuracy in normal speed by at least 2 meters.
