The purpose of this study was to explore how recursive processing of meaningful language, expressed through resonant relationships, generates the neural architecture that is integral to the process of becoming an authentic servant-leader. Meaningful language does not sit in an isolated silo or echo silently in a vacuum; rather, it is intricately intertwined with the relational occurrences of everyday life. It plays a significant role in the formation and transformation of a person’s mind, brain, thoughts, behaviors, and identity. The principles underlying the power of meaningful language, resonant relationships, and interpersonal neurobiology provide neuroscientific substantiation that changes in physical, mental, and emotional behavior can become indelible actualities in the identity formation of an authentic servant-leader.
Keywords: interpersonal neurobiology, resonant relationships, languaging, servant-leadership, mind-brain connection, Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis, mindful awareness, leadership

Organizations are expected to devise adroit actions in the face of prevailing complexity in business environment. Under the circumstances of intensive competition in global markets, dealing with the concept of innovation entails to embrace a more profound coverage than generally ascribed. Innovation is about building capabilities that will eventually be materialized into novel ways of doing things. The very essence of innovation lies in its ability to carry a work process to a superior level of value generation. Therefore, leaders (leadership) are supposed to be reengineered as enablers who function as catalyst for the transformation of organizations into ecologies of innovation where building capabilities and creation of knowledge are continuous endeavors. This conceptual paper aims to tap into the heart of this matter and deal with the relationship between becoming innovative and the appropriate context of leadership that should be instilled in contemporary organizations.

The term neuroleadership (Rock 2009) refers to the application of neuroscience to the field of business leadership. The primary aim of this dialogue between neuroscience and business is to improve the management, productivity and leadership of organisations. Underpinning this exchange is the fact that a leader can develop skills that both enhance ef!ciency, yet also steer themselves away from distracting practices or behaviour that would hinder ef!ciency.

The principles of interpersonal neurobiology (IPNB)—a rapidly developing
field of study that emphasizes relationships, emotions, and the brain
(Fishbane 2007)—can be applied to many leadership styles, be they good
or bad. This article emphasizes servant-leadership because of the positive characteristics and values it espouses. It introduces some of the fundamental concepts of interpersonal neurobiology and servant-leadership and discusses how IPNB may benefit and encourage servant-leaders as they work toward deep-rooted transformation within themselves, their followers, their organizations, and ultimately society as a whole.

The aim of this study is to make an interdisciplinary review on the principle of parsimony and the way it could possibly affect humans’ decision-making process. Parsimony is analysed as a scientific approach in evolutionary research, as well as an approach for interpreting cortical cognitive functioning. The study also reviews theories in decision-making processes and suggests the potential effect of brain’s parsimony on humans’ decisions. The main hypothesis is that human brain tends to save energy, leading people to the use of standardized cognitive strategies, based on learned knowledge and experience, which is faster and cost effective, but it deteriorates decisions’ quality, by not taking new information under adequate consideration. It is concluded that people should be willing to dedicate time and effort (energy) in order to examine all the information and evaluate the alternatives before making a decision. Decision-making theories provide us with some useful techniques for increasing decision quality. Finally, some future studies are proposed for testing the hypotheses.

Studies on organizational identification, organizational cynicism and empowerment are seen to be increasing. All these three variables are important for the organizations to have their human resources for longer period of time. In this context, this study is designed to identify both the relationship of aforementioned three variables and possible mediating effect of organizational identification in the relationship of empowerment and organizational sinism. The hypotheses were tested with the data
gathered from 69 academicians working at the management and foreign language departments of a public university in Ankara. Results showed that empowerment had a positive and significant effect on organizational identification, empowerment had a negative and significant effect on organizational cynicism, and organizational identification had a negative and significant effect on organizational cynicism.
