For convenient holiday accommodation, Muckleneuk lies en route to Brooklyn and Waterkloof just beyond Sunnyside, is in an enviable position in the city with easy access not only to the city centre, but to the leafier and more established eastern suburbs. It can get a little confusing in this part of Pretoria, as New or Nieuw Muckleneuk lies just a little further east and is often confused with plain Muckleneuk - and the little kopje in the suburb, Muckleneuk Ridge, adds further uncertainty as to just where Muckleneuk begins and ends.

The pretty suburb, dominated by sturdy blocks of flats and large homes also lies just beneath UNISA, the University of South Africa. Of late, residents have had more than their fair share of blasting, banging and digging as teams of construction workers upgrade the railway tracks evident in Muckleneuk so that two additional tracks can join the current one as part of the Gautrain initiative.

Muckleneuk is also close to the University of Pretoria and when it comes to attractions, is close to a number of sites rich in heritage, like the Union Buildings, Freedom Park, Church Square and the Voortrekker Monument. Pretoria�s Zoo is a day�s outing well worth the quick trip into and across town, and for rugby fans; Loftus Versveld Stadium is also within easy reach of Muckleneuk.

The Bird sanctuary in Muckleneuk is a very special place! Go and spend a few hours and there is a restaurant there too thats worth going to.
