Formula:
(Mg,Mn,Ca)Mn3O7 · 3H2O
Colour:
Brown to brownish-black.
Name:
Named in 1992 by G. Yan, S. Zhang, M. Zhao, J. Ding, D. Li for Jianshui county which includes the type locality.
In the structure Mg is in the interlayer space, above and below the vacant sites of the Mn-O octahedral sheet. Mg has octahedral coordination, being linked to 3 oxygen atoms of the octahedral layer and 3 ones belonging to interlayer-residing water. Some Ni and maybe Mn2+ may be located at the Mg site.
