Thermal Behaviour:
When heated at 750 C, most of the mineral volatilizes leaving a small yellow residue giving the x-ray pattern of U3O8.
Notes:
Dissolves with difficulty in concentrated HCl on prolonged heating. Dissolves in concentrated HNO3 with separation of molybdic acid. Is insoluble in H2SO4 or 10% KOH. Dissolves in 2O% Na2CO3 solution on heating.
Radioactive.
Health Risks:
No information on health risks for this material has been entered into the database. You should always treat mineral specimens with care.
