Formula:
NaNaFe2+(Mn2+,Mn3+)(PO4)3 (?)
Crystal System:
Monoclinic
Name:
Originally published as a re-definition of hühnerkobelite (Moore, 1965). Renamed hagendorfite-NaNa by Moore and Ito (1979) for a member of the Alluaudite Group with the formula (M(2)4(M(1)4X(1)4X(2)4(PO4)-[_][_] where the dominant cation occupancies are: M(2) = Fe#2+#, M(1) = Mn#2+#, X(2) = Na, and X(1) = Na. Moore and Ito (1979) stated: "The proposed nomenclature of the alluaudites and the wyllieites was brought before the Commission on New Minerals and new Mineral Names (IMA)." Several species of the alluadite/wyllieite group have followed the proposed notation, but the proposal has not been adopted to date (2017).
Brilliant black stout crystals.
