USS Oakland (CL-95) byl americký lehký křižník třídy Atlanta, který za druhé světové války bojoval v řadách United States Navy na pacifickém bojišti. Oakland tvořil společně se sesterskými plavidly Reno, Flint a Tuscon druhou dokončenou skupinou plavidel této třídy. Od prvních čtyř lodí třídy Atlanta se tato plavidla lišila především snížením počtu dělostřeleckých věží s kanóny ráže 127 mm o dvě. Vynechány byly dvě věže stojící po stranách zadní nástavby a naopak byla posílena protiletadlová výzbroj menších ráží. Loď bojovala v letech 1943–1945 na pacifickém bojišti, přečkala válku bez úhony a čtyři roky po jejím skončení byla vyřazena ze služby. Na prahu 60. let byla sešrotována. (cs)

Le cinquième croiseur léger de la classe Atlanta (ou premier de la classe Oakland, le Oakland et les trois navires suivants n'ayant que douze canons de 127 mm au lieu de seize avec six tourelles doubles), porte le nom d'une ville de Californie. USS Oakland (CL-95), was a modified Atlanta-class light cruiser, the first of a group of four sometimes referred to as the "Oakland-class". She was laid down by Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation, San Francisco, California, on 15 July 1940; launched on 23 October 1942; sponsored by Dr. Aurelia Henry Reinhardt, president of Mills College, Oakland, California; and commissioned on 17 July 1943. She was named for the city of Oakland, California. Like the Atlanta class, the Oakland class was designed as an anti-aircraft cruiser, with a main battery of dual-purpose guns, the principal difference between the two classes being that the Oakland-class did not have the Atlanta class's two-beam twin 5 in (127 mm)/38 cal gun turrets. They were removed for the sake of stability and the limited arcs of fire experienced by the wing turrets on the Atlantas. Oakland sustained three casualties during World War II. (en)
