Women entrepreneurship has shown an upward trend globally. According to a study conducted by the Global Entrepreneurship Research Association, an estimated 163 million women were starting or running new businesses in 74 economies around the world in 2016. In addition, an estimated 111 million were running established businesses globally (Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) 2016/2017 Report on Women's Entrepreneurship)." Till 2018, women mark their presence in every un-conventional career field. Women entrepreneurs are significantly contributing in the economy of the country. Earlier women entrepreneurs faced many hurdles which limit their potentials but now women across the globe have overcome all challenges and have magnificently proved themselves in all spheres of life including the most cumbersome world of entrepreneurship which was earlier dominated by the men. Drucker said that Indian women are the best managers because since their childhood they learned how to take responsibilities and how to handle the adverse situations. Women across India are showing more interest in entrepreneurship because they want to be economically independent and have control over their lives. This paper entails the success stories of woman entrepreneurs of Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, who have created for themselves an identity and earned respect through their entrepreneurial skills and became an idol in the eyes of the society.

Rural women entrepreneurs play an important role in the development of Indian economy although they face a serious of problems and challenges. They are an important factor for the development of rural areas. They also help in checking the rate of migration by rural people to urban communities, thereby decreasing the problem of overpopulation. However, in the practical world, the condition of rural women entrepreneurs is still very backward. So, this study is conducted in an attempt to find out the various problems faced by these women. In this study, primary data were collected through structured questionnaire and interview. The secondary data were collected from journals and books. Statistical tools like Correlation, Reliability Test, Cronbach's alpha, KMO and Barlett's test of Sphericity and Factor Analysis were used for analysis of the data collected. The result shows that there are ten (10) various problems faced by rural women entrepreneurs. These problems are classified into three components or factors, which are Financial Problem, Production and Marketing Problem and General Problem. The major problem in the life of rural women entrepreneurs is the Production and Marketing Problem followed by General Problem and finally the Financial Problem.

Women entrepreneurs in the sectors of agriculture, manufacturing, service and trade
struggle to achieve profits. The aim of this study is to determine the motivation of women
entrepreneurs that sustains employment creation. Applying Yamane’s formula, 765 responses out
of a population of 2150 was the lowest acceptable number of responses to maintain a 95 percent
confidence level. The weakness in the relationship between women entrepreneurs and their
entrepreneurial performance as regards employment creation in the various SMEs probably
could have been caused by the trend in the study area especially as the women of Igbo Etiti
L.G.A. are more prone to acquiring education than venturing into entrepreneurship. . Even with
these challenge, significant t-values exists in our correlations of the study’s hypothesis tests. This
implies that the null hypothesis of, “there is no significant relationship between motivational
patterns of women entrepreneurs and employment creation,” under study will be rejected and its
alternative accepted. Motivation for the women boosted employment creation from fear, power
and intrinsic and extrinsic motivational patterns; but stakeholders still need to implement the
importance of motivational incentive and attitude motivational patterns in enhancing
employment creation within the community (area of study).

This study recommends conceptual frameworks that demonstrate the relationship of digitalization between motivation and firm performance of women entrepreneurs in Bangalore. The researcher selected Bangalore city for the primary data collection through the questionnaire, with a non-random sampling technique of 22 women entrepreneurs. The collected data were analyzed by using descriptive, inferential, and multiple regression analysis to test the performance of a business run by women in Bangalore. As a result of this conceptual model, digitalization was not a mediating variable in the relationship between the motivation and firm performance of women entrepreneurs. The direct effects of the individual variable are highly significant by the motivation to firm performance, motivation to digitalization, and digitalization to firm performance. The researcher suggests that the model shall be constructed as a moderating variable to attract the women entrepreneur's intention towards digitalization

Entrepreneurship as an area of discussion in academics has gained a lot of attention in the present time. Even though women constitute nearly half of the total population, their participation in entrepreneurial activities is still very limited. Since women are considered as an important catalyst for economic development of a country, encouraging more participation from them in entrepreneurship will prove to be a significant step for the development of the economy. Entrepreneurship is not merely an act of money making. For women, entrepreneurship is essentially a journey out of poverty and of self-realization towards equality. In the recent times, rural women entrepreneurship has drawn a lot of attention the government, various non-government organizations and researchers in the last few decades. Increasing number of women entrepreneurs in the rural areas has necessitated the active participation of women in the economy. Rural women entrepreneurs engaged in small scale enterprises have capacitated the process of empowerment in the rural areas and the all round socioeconomic development of these women. Keeping in mind the increasing number of rural women entrepreneurs, this paper is an attempt to understand the prospect of women entrepreneurship in India in general and in rural areas in particular. Moreover, this paper also looks at the issues that the women entrepreneurs are facing in the rural areas and how the government has helped them in this process.

Man has always been the whimsical puppet and merely a silent audience to various manifestations of nature's fury throughout the time. Thunderstorms are amazing and dreadful natural disaster that always associate with the inevitable risk with lightning and woeful death consequence. According to the experts’ opinion, deforestation, agricultural and labor-intensive economy, poor infrastructure and climate variability are playing a pregnant role in higher rates of lightning-related deaths and injuries in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh has seen a near-record number of lightning deaths in 2016. Experts emphasis that absence of ‘nowcasting system’ for urgent notices is one of the reasons of so many lightning stricken deaths in Bangladesh. According to the Department of Disaster Management, until September 20, a total of 193 people were killed in lightning strikes, surpassing all previous annual figures that ranged from 51 to 136 between 2010 and 2015.
Climatologists warn us that erratic climate change is causing more water evaporation from the land and ocean, increasing clouds and rainfall and the potential for lightning storms. They also predict that as the world warms up, we should expect more explosive lightning events rather than a gradual increase. By perceiving its importance, Bangladesh's government has added since August last year lightning strikes to the country's list of official types of disasters.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to develop a conceptual framework which combines the strength of weak ties (SWT) concept with an innovative taxonomy for mitigating principal-agent (P-A) conflicts. The taxonomy highlights the mechanisms through which African women can overcome the obstacles faced when setting up businesses. Design/methodology/approach The paper discusses the role of “weak ties” networks in entrepreneurial activities and integrates the concept with the key parameters of the P-A paradigm. The aim is to develop a taxonomy (or scorecard) for mitigating the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in Africa from a P-A perspective. Six P-A parameters are analysed, namely, attitudes towards risk; behaviour-based vs targets-based contracts; asymmetric information; risk-sharing; transaction costs; and verification and monitoring costs. Findings With the aid of the taxonomy developed in the paper, the authors analyse the channels through which “SWT” networks may impact in ...

This chapter analyzes two types of women entrepreneurship in rural México. The first type seeks to determine the successes and failures undertaken by women at a rural business financed by a state program and the second type seeks to reflect the importance of social capital in the establishment and growth of cooperatives in Mexico, specifically the cooperative Las Chiquihuitecas, producer of cochineal insect (Dactylopius coccus Costa). The research method used in both cases was totally qualitative applying the documentary analysis and the interview in depth as an instrument for the collection of the information. It is obtained that social capital has been the key element in the formation and development of women businesses. The study concludes that the practical knowledge of the entrepreneurs and the lack of social capital in these cases are not sufficient to direct the businesses to success, and that the lack of structured knowledge and adequate scientific support for this project strongly directed towards the non-permanence on the market.
