• Delaware's largest Atlantic White Cedar Tree was discovered at our Ponders Tract Trail System. These trees provide critical habitat to endangered species like the Hessel's Hairstreak Butterfly, a species recently spotted at our preserve. • Exciting Wildlife News‼ We are thrilled to share that a TNC #Delaware preserve is home to some rare #Delmarva fox squirrels! 🐿️ Thanks to our amazing partners at STATE OF DELAWARE, DNREC, 36 traps have been set up in a tight grid to study these elusive creatures. So far, we’ve confirmed the presence of a collared male (right) and an uncollared female (left), and we couldn’t be more excited! 📸 Check out the new pictures of both squirrels. Seeing a male and female together is a promising sign for the population, and we can’t wait to share more updates with you.
