Aaron “The Swayz” Sweazy wrote: Bobby Lashley isn’t from Missouri Valley, or Colorado Springs really. He’s a home grown Kansas boy like Jonathan Coachman (McPherson, KS) but Lashley is from Junction City, KS, Where he was a 6a State Champion and also a 1994 National High School All American at 160 lbs finishing 8th. Junction City is nearby Fort Riley home of the Big Red One (not Kane but the military infantry) and might be part of the reason he went on to join the Armed forces. Was a co-Kansas Wrestling Coache’s Association College Wrestler of the year in 1998 sharing the honor with 3 other Kansas individuals who had a stellar senior year in college. He was the silver medalist in the 2002 CISM World Championships-competing against the world’s best military wrestlers. Will turn 30 in the summer of 2006.
