Colour:

Silver-white to grayish white

Name:

In recognition of Charles Edward Michener (Red Deer, Alberta January 1907- Toronto 15 October 2004), Canadian exploration geologist, International Nickel Co., who is credited with the discovery of a number of major ore deposits, including the Thompson nickel belt in Manitoba and a laterite deposit in Indonesia. Michener discovered and first studied the mineral that was later named after him (Horváth 2003).
