We developed a networked virtual reality system on which one could have live videoes with high iteractive usage. However, since a client in our system receives both live videoes and computer graphics objects continuously from a server while it is rendering the current frame of the virtual world, a quality of the presentation of the virtual space depends on the current available system resources on the client as well as network resources. In this paper, we discuss the notion of QoS for a networked VR system as an application level QoS which is based on the notion of an importance of presence (IoP) of objects in a virtual space calculated by a distance from a current user's position to the object and an angle from the user's perspective to the object. Then, we show a heuristic mapping mechanism of the application level QoS to a network level QoS which determines the allocation of bandwidth of videos and CG objects to maximize the presentation quality. We adopt bandwidth as a...

Human Interaction in meetings is one of the famous fields of social dynamics. Meeting is integral part of every organization. In this, meeting outcome is extracted using tree based approach. Meetings contents or conversation are available in forms such as audio, video and text. In this, pattern of meeting is extracted from text document. An interaction is represented in the form of tree. Meeting Output is generated using data mining technique. Firstly the contents are filtered, extracted and steamed. Secondly classification is done into six categories propose, comment, acknowledgement, request Info, ask Opinion, pos Opinion, and neg Opinion. Next the interaction tree is constructed which represent the interaction flow of meeting. Finally the meeting output is generated from interaction tree using frequent pattern mining algorithm. The behavior of person is determined which includes a person who proposed a lot of ideas, a person with positive or negative attitude.

Information visualization of multivariate data is a dif- ficult task. Glyph-based rendering is an attempt to discretize the data visually so that individual visual el- ements of the final display such as color, size, position, etc. encode some information about the data. We pro- pose a simple new method for allowing the use of shape for quantitative, continuous data by

This pilot study was performed to evaluate whether virtual reality is applicable for three-dimensional echocardiography and if three-dimensional echocardiographic 'holograms' have the potential to become a clinically useful tool. Three-dimensional echocardiographic data sets from 2 normal subjects and from 4 patients with a mitral valve pathological condition were included in the study. The three-dimensional data sets were acquired with the Philips Sonos 7500 echo-system and transferred to the BARCO (Barco N.V., Kortrijk, Belgium) I-space. Ten independent observers assessed the 6 three-dimensional data sets with and without mitral valve pathology. After 10 minutes' instruction in the I-Space, all of the observers could use the virtual pointer that is necessary to create cut planes in the hologram. The 10 independent observers correctly assessed the normal and pathological mitral valve in the holograms (analysis time approximately 10 minutes). this report shows that dynam...

In this work, we study the steady-states vibrations of the “Koch snowflake drum”, both numerically and by means of computer graphics. In particular, we approximate the smallest 50 eigenvalues (or “frequencies” of the drum), along with the corresponding eigenfunctions (called “snowflake harmonics”) of the Dirichlet Laplacian on the Koch snowflake domain. We describe the numerical methods used in the computations, and we display graphical representations of a selected set of the eigenfunctions (as well as of their gradients). In the case of the first harmonic, the graphical results agree with mathematically derived results (by Lapidus and Pang) concerning gradient behavior (“blow up” or “infinite stress” of the membrane) on the boundary and suggest further conjectures regarding the higher eigenfunctions. According to earlier work by the physicist Sapoval and his collaborators, this research may help better understand the formation and “stabilization” of fractal structures (e.g., coast...

Research in learning algorithms and sensor hardware has led to rapid advances in artificial systems over the past decade. However, their performance continues to fall short of the efficiency and versatility of human behavior. In many ways, a deeper understanding of how human perceptual systems process and act upon physical sensory information can contribute to the development of better artificial systems. In the presented research, we highlight how the latest tools in computer vision, computer graphics, and virtual reality technology can be used to systematically understand the factors that determine how humans perform in realistic scenarios of complex task-solving.

Efficient ray shooting algorithm is inherently required by many computer graphics algorithms, particularly in image synthesis. Practical ray shooting algorithms aiming at the average-case complexity use some underlying spatial data structure such as -tree. We show the new termi- nation criteria algorithm that improves the space and time complexity of the -tree construction. It provides efficient ray-shooting queries and does

RapidMiner is a software for machine learning, data mining, predictive analytics, and business analytics. The server will record large web log files when user visits the website. Extracting knowledge from such huge data demands for new methods. In this paper, we propose a web usage mining method with RapidMiner. At first, the redundant files in log file are deleted by Matlab and then we mines web log which has been pretreated with RapidMiner, it obtains the custom of different user to visit the website by processing and analyzing log file, and mines unusual rules, and provides the reference for the policy decision and construction of website. Experimental result analysis show that, applying RapidMiner in web usage mining, will obtain frequent model which user visits the website, manage to optimize the website structure and recommends for users.

Weathering over long periods of time results in cracking and peeling of layers such as paint. To include these effects in computer graphics images it is necessary to simulate crack propagation, loss of adhesion, and the curling effect of paint peeling. We present a new approach which computes such a simulation on surfaces. Our simulation is inspired by the underlying physical properties. We use paint strength and tensile stress to determine where cracks appear on the surface. Cracks are then propagated through a 2D grid ...

Shape matching is one of the main research procedures performed by archaeologists. Real time 3D computer graphics, 3D digitisation and content based retrieval are technologies that can facilitate the automation of the shape matching process. As pottery plays a significant role in understanding ancient societies, we focus on the development of compact shape descriptors that can be used for content based retrieval of complete or nearly complete 3D pottery replicas. In this work, we present shape descriptors that exploit the axial symmetry feature and attempt to enhance the archaeological study of pottery by using 3D graphics technologies. We evaluated the performance of the descriptors using a 3D pottery ground truth repository as a test bed. We created an experimental 3D pottery search engine and attempted to integrate a content based retrieval mechanism in a 3D virtual reality environment.
