This paper uses evangelical reflections on the meaning of "rights" to explore the juridification of religion in contemporary England. Drawing on sixteen months of participatory fieldwork with evangelicals in London, I argue that English evangelicals' critiques of Christian-interest litigation reflect the interaction of local theologies with developments in the law's regulation of religion, developments that have contributed to the relativization of Protestant Christianity even as historic church establishment is maintained. Through an exploration of the tension between the goals of (rights-based) individualism and (Christian) relationalism as they concern the law, I show how litigation can affect religious sub-jectivity even in the absence of a personal experience with the pageantry of the court.

Terence McKenna argued that sovereignty over one’s consciousness is the next great civil rights struggle after sexism, racism, and homophobia. “Coming out” about one’s psychedelic identity, interests, and/or experiences is an important part of redefining the public perception of psychedelics and of those who choose to experience their effects. Even non-using “allies” (comparable to LGBTQ allies) can join the conversation in supportive roles. In light of the shifting legal status of psychoactive plants and chemicals, what might it mean to identify as psychedelic in a post-prohibition world?

The case of Lautsi v. Italy, better known as the “Crucifix Case,” is a particularly significant case. Its significance is not only political and legal, but also religious. Never before in the history of the European Court of Human Rights and the Council of Europe has a case raised so much public attention and debate. The debate regarding the legitimacy of the symbol of Christ’s presence in Italian schools is emblematic of the cultural crisis in Western Europe regarding religion. Twenty-one State parties to the European Convention on Human Rights, in an unprecedented move, joined Italy to reassert the legitimacy of the public display of Christian symbols in European society. The Court finally recognized, in substance, that in countries of Christian tradition, Christianity enjoys a special social legitimacy that distinguishes it from other philosophical and religious belief systems. In other words, because Italy is a country of Christian tradition, Christian symbols may legitimately enjoy greater visibility in Italian society than other religious or ideological symbols.

This report discusses the impact of freedom of religion in Australia on Jewish women. Freedom of religion is
a human rights principle, concerned with the relationship between the State and religious belief and
practice. The operation of the law must, to be consistent with the principle of freedom of religion,
maximise the right of the individual to engage with his or her spirituality and to live within a community of
like-minded worshippers, while ensuring that the fundamental values of Australian liberal democracy are
maintained. Australian law and policy strives to provide ample space for diverse religious practice, at the
same time as protecting the community from the threats posed by religious extremism and religiously
motivated terrorism.

Conscientious objection has become a pervasive and controversial phenomenon in contemporary democracies, which are far from having provided for the same legal solutions to it. Sometimes, individuals refusing to meet certain obligations on the grounds of conscience are punished just as any offender. Sometimes, they are accommodated either by being exempted from the obligation at issue or by being given the option to perform an alternative service. In some legal systems, they are entitled to receive special treatment only if the legislature has provided for so, whereas in other countries courts can eventually accommodate them even though that is not the case. The present paper analyzes these and other possible legal solutions to conscientious objection by employing and developing the standard economic model of law enforcement. The paper also discusses some potential extensions.
Keywords: law enforcement, criminal law, constitutional law, human rights, freedom of conscience and religion, conscientious objection.

Toleration plays a central role in debates about the accommodation of religious beliefs and practices in liberal democracies. This chapter addresses one such debate, which concerns whether liberal societies ought to tolerate discriminatory practices when, or even because, they are performed by religious associations and institutions. After briefly discussing some recently canvassed arguments in support of tolerating discrimination by religious associations, it turns to the question of how political communities might establish the limits to this form of toleration, a question so far neglected by philosophers. One reason why a tolerant state might refuse to allow religious associations to discriminate is to 1

One of the important achievements of humanity, has been the modernist approach to the concept of religion and its transformation from a full-fledged government policy into a personal inherently faith. The right to freedom of religion is among the fundamental human rights identified and protected in international and regional human rights documents; However, it should be acknowledged that, firstly, due to its quiddity and its legal nature, in the international arena is conditional on the acceptance of the governments, and secondly, the approach of different states towards it, is different depending on the political, social and cultural conditions that govern them. This right in Europe is protected by the European Convention on Human Rights and its collateral entity, the European Court of Human Rights. In this study in addition to reviewing the international obligations of States in the field of the protection of religious freedom, we intend to assess, practice of court in the field of elimination of religious intolerance and determination of territory of the right to freedom of religion. Because religious intolerance is one of the earliest causes of international conflict, the benchmarking of the European Court of Action's practical approach can be effective in reducing conflicts and promoting international and regional peace and security.

Reviews "Norman Rockwell's Four Freedoms: Images that inspire a nation" by Stuart Murray and James McCabe (Berkshire House, 1993; Grammercy, 1998). Nearly every Norman Rockwell coffee table book includes his famous "Four Freedoms" paintings. Most tell the basic story behind the works-how the artist was inspired by President Franklin Roosevelt's State of the Union speech of 1941, how he sought without success to find sponsorship by a government agency, and how the paintings were originally published in four issues of Saturday Evening Post magazine in 1943. This generously illustrated volume by Stuart Murray and James McCabe tells a much more complete-and much more fascinating-story. The book also includes the four essays published with the four paintings when they appeared in the Saturday Evening Post magazine in 1943 -- by Booth Tarkington, Carlos Bulosan, Stephen Vincent Benet, and Will Durant -- and five more essays by John Frohnmayer, Theodore H. Evans, James MacGregor Burns, Brian Urquhart, and William J. vanden Heuvel.

He sought a full engagement of the nation’s deepest values and religious emotions.

This article focuses on the issue of reasonable accommodation in the workplace and offers some explanations for the different positions of the two European Supranational Courts. The author considers whether the non-discrimination standards of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) and European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) are similar or show difference in cases of alleged discrimination on grounds of sex, race, and/or religion in employment. With regard to reasonable accommodation of religious garments at the workplace, an incident of multiple and intersectional discrimination, it is argued that unlike the ECtHR, the CJEU may be more audacious in its assessment if the core interest of employment calls for better protection. As a result, conflicting judgments may come forth by the two Supranational Courts, which would affect legal certainty.

After having outlined the peculiarities of Vatican City State's nature, this paper examines the development of its financial law, starting with the Monetary Convention with European Union. The Holy See from 2009 makes a serious effort to adjust its law to the current needs of an increasingly globalised market. This results in a profound change in the Vatican international relations, which were previously mainly addressing Italy, in order to satisfy the territorial and material needs of a small State. Today Vatican City State has agreed to be subject to periodic controls on its financial system by international bodies. It has developed a system of international relations and it integrates into the global financial market transparency system.

Transgenderism is a religious belief (ideology) and enforcement of it by the State violates the First Amendment.
The First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America.
The attempt to force a transgender ideology upon schools and governments is a violation of the First Amendment in three ways.
First, it is an attempt to establish a religion. Transgenderism is a belief that is not upheld by science. A person claims to be transgender by identification, which is a mental or emotional attachment to an idea. The person who claims to be a female, but is in fact a male, is denying the scientific fact of biology, genetics and DNA. Whatever they may “feel,” it does not make it a fact or true.
Second, the attempt to force others to conform to some complex forms of “politically correct” speech, is a violation of the second clause by prohibiting the free exercise of religion, as well as third, suppressing the freedom of speech by refusing to allow people to speak correctly of scientific facts, but forces them to verbally uphold an ideology or religion.
