The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) has been parsimonious, empirically supported, widely cited, most
prominent, most compelling and well established model for predicting intentional behavior. Despite its
comprehensive and valid prediction on behavior, TPB has received many debates and criticism on its narrow
sufficiency of the three original components constructs of attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavioral
control. This article discusses on the empirical support of various authors that recognized other relevant external
factors to be considered in addition to the original model and considerations for future research context to enrich
the existing theoretical contributions.

This study aimed to evaluate the present status of consumers' buying behaviour in respect of organic foods within two emerging markets. A comparative study was undertaken to understand consumers' buying behaviour relating to organic foods in the southern part of Thailand and north Malaysia. Based on an extensive literature review, the authors identified a number of factors that might influence consumers' intention to buy organic food including environmental knowledge and concerns, price, perceived beliefs and attitudes, and government support and policy. Moreover, the mediating influence of the two different countries on buying behaviour was also investigated. The drop-off and collect' survey administration technique was used to collect a total of 190 questionnaires from Thailand and Malaysia, partial least squares structural equation modelling using the resampling and bootstrapping techniques was used to examine five research hypotheses. The study found that environmental knowledge and concerns, government support and policy and price have a significant positive relationship with consumer buying behaviour in relation to organic foods. Furthermore, the domicile of the respondents in two different countries had a significant moderating effect on consumers' behaviour towards organic food. Keywords: consumer buying behaviour; organic foods; partial least squares; PLS; theory of planned behaviour; TPB; Thailand; Malaysia. The looming threat of climate change has become an undeniable harsh reality. Inefficient energy consumption is one of the major causes of this threat. Protecting the aquatic and terrestrial environment by reducing carbon footprints is a shared responsibility. In this pursuit, the contribution of household sector is extremely valuable and use of energy-saving products can be helpful to epitomize the goal of achieving sustainability. This study aims to investigate the determinants of consumers' intention to purchase energy-saving household products by integrating the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and Technology Readiness Index (TRI) 2.0's four indicators (optimism, innovativeness, discomfort and insecurity). This study applied a hypo deductive research approach. Using cross sectional data, a total 396 valid questionnaires were collected to validate the proposed hypothesis by using Partial Least Square (PLS) path modeling approach (a variance based SEM technique). Results showed that contributors of technology readiness positively influence residents' attitude towards their buying intention, while inhibitors of technology readiness negatively affect this relationship. Further, attitude and perceived behavioral control were found to be significant determinants of intention to purchase energy-saving household products. Based on the above research findings, implications for marketers and policy makers are discussed, moreover future research directions are suggested.

Environmental awareness and changing attitudes toward " green consumption " are becoming evident in emerging countries' markets. Using an extended theory of planned behavior, this paper aims to examine emerging countries' business students' intentions to purchase green vehicles. Stratified random sampling was used to select study participants, and data were collected through face-to-face interviews. Results revealed that environmental knowledge and awareness have a significant influence on business students' favorable attitudes toward green vehicles. Further, a significant association between attitudes toward green vehicles, perceived behavioral controls, and intentions to purchase green vehicles was observed. Findings serve to inform managers and policy makers who are formulating strategies for maximizing value creation in an era of increasingly environmentally aware consumers in emerging markets. Ultimately, this policy will help to promote green technology initiatives, and encourage higher rates of adoption of eco-friendly vehicles in emerging countries.

Although fruit and vegetable consumption is highly recommended for a healthy and balanced daily diet, several European countries do not meet these recommendations. In Italy, only 45% of young people are consuming at least one portion of vegetables per day. Therefore, this paper aims to understand the main determinants of vegetables consumption among young adults to suggest possible intervention strategies. A cross-sectional study was conducted on a samples of Italian students (n = 751), using the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) as a conceptual framework. A structural equation model (SEM) was developed to test the TPB predictors for vegetable consumption, and the role of background factors (socio-demographic and personal characteristics) in improving the TPB model’s explaining power. Overall, 81% and 68%, respectively, of intentions and behaviour variance is explained by the TPB model. Socio-demographic and personal characteristics were found to influence intentions and behaviour indirectly by their effects on the theory’s more proximal determinants. Interventions should be targeted to improve perceived behavioural control (PBC), attitudes and subjective norms that significantly affect intentions. Tailored interventions for male students, enrolled in courses other than food science, and doing less physical activity may have a larger effect on behavioural change.

This study seeks to explore the influence of environmental awareness and attitudes factors towards environmental management practices in the logistics industry in Malaysia. This factor is being introduced in the logistic industries because of the complexity of the attributes. It also explores the logistics companies’ willingness to adopt these practices. Based on an ongoing study, this paper proposes a research model that defines the inter-relationships between the factors mentioned above.
The paper is produced based on interviews, questionnaire survey and reviews significant journal papers, other documents and online sources, including documents which offer substantial and comprehensive reviews of environmental management practices to develop this model.
Based on ongoing research, although technological, organizational and environmental factors have been taken into account in several studies on environmental issues, the awareness and attitudes factors have not yet been considered in the studies of environmental management in the logistics industry. Much remains to be learned about how awareness and attitudes factors influence of environment management practices adoption for the logistics industry, and with increasing awareness of environmental issues, there has been rising demand for environmental-friendly business practices. This paper is proposing a model that takes several ideas of the authors, plus the result of conducted interviews and proposed a model on the willingness on adopting Environment Management Practices.

The advent of cloud technology involving low subscription overheads cost has provided small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with the opportunity to adopt new cloud-based corporate-wide systems (i.e., cloud ERP). This technology, operating through subscription-based services, has now provided SMEs with a complete range of IT applications that were once restricted to large organisations. As anecdotal evidences suggest, SMEs are increasingly adopting cloud-based ERP software. The selection of an ERP is a complex process involving multiple stages and stakeholders, suggesting the importance of closer examination of cloud ERP adoption in SMEs. Yet, prior studies have predominantly treated technology adoption as a single activity and largely ignored the issue of ERP adoption in SMEs. Understanding of the process nature of the adoption and the factors that are important in each stage of the adoption potentially may result in guiding SMEs to make well-informed decisions throughout the ER...

The issue of employee commitment to sustainable development activities may be crucial for managing protected, sound and practical working surroundings in conjunction with limiting negative ecological impacts. The Readymade Garments (RMG) Industry of Bangladesh has been for quite a long time identified with the absence of standard work laws, sustainable outlines, conflict amongst administration and the workforce. Thus, it might be sensible to tune strategic plans in light of employee’s Knowledge, Attitude and Behaviour of sustainable advancement which in authenticity identifies emotional obligation for sustainable initiatives regarding concern industrial segment.

User comments have become an integral part of news websites. This study implements the well-validated theory of planned behavior (TPB) in order to understand the individual decision to post anonymous comments on news sites in Israel. We examine whether commenting is a spontaneous behavior, as has been argued in previous studies, or a reasoned behavior. Based on an internet survey (N = 707), the present study results support the hypothesis that the process involved in
posting a comment in a specific socio-political context involves a reasoned action that can be understood by applying a generic theoretical model. Empirical support for TPB model hypotheses for intention prediction was evident, with the subjective norm-intention relation stronger than the attitude and perceived behavioral control–intention relations. In spite of the anonymous nature of the comments, findings highlight the relevance of the perceived socio-political context for individuals’ decision whether to post an anonymous comment.

This study uses Ajzen's theory of planned behaviour to predict entrepreneurial intention among 160 students in Malaysia. The purpose is to investigate the effects of its antecedents, particularly when applied to students from family business background. A new construct was also introduced to the model in examining the role of perceived behavioural control as a mediator between alertness and intention. Results indicate a strong explanatory power in this model as well as confirming a strong support on its applicability in the entrepreneurship field. The significant effects of family business background were also validated. In addition, the role of the mediator of perceived behavioural control was tested and confirmed suggesting the importance of the state of entrepreneurial alertness to intention.

There is evidence that relationships between humans and non-human animals are gender sensitive. However, the impact of gender in decision-making related to our interactions with animals have been largely neglected in research. The aim of this article is to investigate the influences of gender in the intention of adopting ethical veganism under the Theory of Planned Behavior (hereafter, TPB). The author collected primary data from 476 non-vegan Spanish university students and examined two models of TPB: the standard version and an extended version of TPB – by the addition of ‘general attitudes towards human-like attributes ascribed to animals’ (hereafter, human-like attributes) as an indirect predictor of intention. Highlights from the results are as follows. First, data suggests that, for both genders, social factors are more relevant than attitudinal and practical factors in forming the intention to adopt veganism. Second, results showed no significant gender differences regarding the effect of those three factors on intention. Third, findings revealed that the effect of that human-like attributes on behavioural attitudes were significantly higher for women than for men. Lastly, the overall predictive ability of the models was higher for men than women. More research is needed to better understand these gender differences.

The aim of this research is to explore members' attitude towards loyalty intention in the consumer cooperatives within the Malaysian context. Attitude has been explained in the Theory of Planned Behavior as the strongest predictor of intention, therefore suggesting that by applying this predictor into this study, intention can thus be best explained. Simple random sampling method was applied in this study whereby, all 13 consumer cooperatives listed in the Top 100 Cooperatives Index as at 2014 were selected to take part in this research. Four hundred and seven (407) valid questionnaires were reverted for the purpose of data analysis. This research has demonstrated that members' attitude is substantial in influencing loyalty intention, therefore suggesting that vital strategies needs to be stimulated by cooperative in order to attract, gain and retain members' participation to energize the cooperative sector in the future.
