During #COP29, Ivana Zivkovic, Assistant Administrator and Director of the Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS, joined Ukraine’s pavilion to spotlight UNDP’s efforts in Ukraine’s green recovery. She participated in high-level events on climate financing and clean energy partnerships. Alongside representatives from UNDP Ukraine Country Office, she explored further collaboration opportunities with senior officials from the Government of #Ukraine and Ukraine’s Parliament. Ukraine’s pavilion concept revolves around the idea of how joint efforts can sprout into big changes. The primary building material used for the pavilion is Ukrainian eco-friendly paper, embedded with live seeds. Ukrainian artist, Oleksandra Zhumailova has created a mural covering over 120 square meters of the Pavilion. It features 50 key environmental initiatives, including UNDP projects: ✅ Launch of a large-scale Green Energy Recovery Programme, which will provide 442 MW of clean energy for millions of Ukrainians. ✅ Creation of over 4,500 jobs in green technology through 85 successful ESCO projects across 20 cities. ✅ Opening of Ukraine's first construction waste recycling station in Bucha. ✅ Support for the landmark climate policy law aimed at achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
