Kvačekite (original) (raw)
A valid IMA mineral species
Specific Gravity:
7.607 (Calculated)
Name:
Named after Milan Kvaček (13. 2. 1930 - 21. 5. 1993), a Czech mineralogist and the author of the first comprehensive descriptions of selenides from western Moravia. Milan Kvaček is the author of over sixty publications in the fields of mineralogy, chemistry and geochemistry. He also co-operated closely with Zdeněk Johan from BRGM (Orléans) on the description of six new selenides from the Bohemian Massif - bukovite, fischesserite, hakite, permingeatite, petrovicite and sabatierite.
The Se analogue of ullmannite. Unique combination of elements (at the upload time).
