In 1998, in a paper in which he explained the mechanisms used in Hollywood to divide the revenue generated by feature films among different stakeholders, Mark Weinstein (1998) argued that only ten to twenty percent of these projects actually were showing a positive figure under the heading “net profits”. Ten years later, the United Nations (2998) also acknowledged that; as it was widely recognized, yet without mentioning any empirical study that might corroborate the use of such a precise figure, only 20 percent of movies were making a profit. Moreover, as this report informed, the surplus generated by these extremely successful projects was so large that it offset the cumulated losses generated by the remaining 80 percent of feature films. The implications of the existence of uncontested and long lasting belief about the high risks that companies in the filmmaking business have to face and overcome, should not to be neglected: when policy makers accept that the outcome of a movie is highly unpredictable and the gap in terms of income between a success and a failure can be substantial, they are also more inclined to accept concentration in this sector as a way to reduce risk and increase investments. Epstein‟s book “The Hollywood Economist: The Hidden Financial Reality Behind the Movies” does not reveal what percentage of feature film is likely to pass the break-even point, nor it denies that filmmaking can be a risky business in financial terms. The main contribution to knowledge from this book comes from his explanation of the financial practices of the producers-distributors that are now part of the largest info-entertainment conglomerates and are the descendent of the major Hollywood studios (i.e. the „Majors‟). After reading this book, the reader will understand that making movies for these companies and for the conglomerates they are part of, is a rather stable, low-risk and very profitable activity.

The use of chatbots in news media platforms, although relatively recent, offers many advantages to journalists and media professionals and, at the same time, facilitates users' interaction with useful and timely information. This study shows the usability of a news chatbot during a crisis situation, employing the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic as a case study. The basic targets of the research are to design and implement a chatbot in a news media platform with a twofold aim in regard to evaluation: first, the technical effort of creating a functional and robust news chatbot in a crisis situation both from the AI perspective and interoperability with other platforms, which constitutes the novelty of the approach; and second, users' perception regarding the appropriation of this news chatbot as an alternative means of accessing existing information during a crisis situation. The chatbot designed was evaluated in terms of effectively fulfilling the social responsibility function of crisis reporting, to deliver timely and accurate information on the COVID-19 pandemic to a wide audience. In this light, this study shows the advantages of implementing chatbots in news platforms during a crisis situation, when the audience's needs for timely and accurate information rapidly increase.

Diagnostic accuracy studies are, like other clinical studies, at risk of bias due to shortcomings in design and conduct, and the results of a diagnostic accuracy study may not apply to other patient groups and settings. Readers of study reports need to be informed about study design and conduct, in sufficient detail to judge the trustworthiness and applicability of the study findings. The STARD statement (Standards for Reporting of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies) was developed to improve the completeness and transparency of reports of diagnostic accuracy studies. STARD contains a list of essential items that can be used as a checklist, by authors, reviewers and other readers, to ensure that a report of a diagnostic accuracy study contains the necessary information. STARD was recently updated. All updated STARD materials, including the checklist, are available at http:// www.equator-network.org/reporting-guidelines/stard. Here, we present the STARD 2015 explanation and elaboration document. Through commented examples of appropriate reporting, we clarify the rationale for each of the 30 items on the STARD 2015 checklist, and describe what is expected from authors in developing sufficiently informative study reports.

Abstract— nowadays, it is essential for medical professionals to organize and keep track of their patients’ medical records. Keeping this kind of information is absolutely not an easy task, especially with a numerous amount of records and other documents that need to be filled, which are usually in rows of labeled folders in file cabinets. The lack in automated electronic medical recordkeeping is apparently more in the field of pediatrics. The growing influence of mobile phones, computers or technology as a whole, along with the advances in medical devices, are becoming a crucial part in the future of healthcare. All kind of technology driven devices are creating their way towards becoming essential tools in offices of medical practitioners. Furthermore, with these tools and equipment, record keeping of medical information of patients could be made more productive, convenient and fuller in content, not only including pictures but video and audio records as well.
Telemedicine is a generic term which is used to characterize various aspects of health care at a distance. In its most expansive application, telemedicine can be defined as the use of telecommunication technologies to provide medical information and services. The key aspect of telemedicine is the use of electronic signals to transfer information from one site to another. The term, telemedicine, is becoming most recognized as referring to remote clinical care and consultation through the use of electronic equipment that provides with images. By using Telemedicine technologies and a well-planned timeline, the SERENITY APP has successfully drawn down its hospitals complement. Telemedicine services that integrate electronic medical records can decrease the number of cases where doctors cannot access the records of patients. According to the Institute of Medicine, around 30% of physicians could not have accessed their patient's files in existing non-telemedicine systems and about 70% of the records were deficient.

Biomarkers are broadly classified as genomic, proteomic, or metabolomic. Molecular biology and oncology research studies on oral cancer biomarkers focus on identifying key biological molecules or markers that could be linked to cancer development, risk assessment, screening, recurrence prediction, indicating prognosis, indicating invasion/metastasis and monitoring therapeutic responses of cancer. Cluster of differentiation factor 34 is a salivary biomarker that can identify recurrence potential of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Integrin α3 and integrin β4 are genomic biomarkers that are helpful in estimating the risk of regional and hematogenous dissemination of malignant oral squamous cells. Other examples are vascular endothelial growth factor, B-cell lymphoma-2, claudin 4, yes-associated protein 1 and MET proto-oncogene, and receptor tyrosine kinase, which are genomic biomarkers that are used to predict radio-resistance in OSCC tissue. The present article reviews the clinical application, methodologies and steps in developing candidate biomarkers, protocols in reporting, evaluating candidate biomarkers, and challenges in biomarker research with a focus OSCC.

Back cover text: Real Social Science presents a new, hands-on approach to social inquiry. The theoretical and methodological ideas behind the book, inspired by Aristotelian phronesis, represent an original perspective within the social sciences, and this volume gives readers for the first time a set of studies exemplifying what applied phronesis looks like in practice. The reflexive analysis of values and power gives new meaning to the impact of research on policy and practice. Real Social Science is a major step forward in a novel and thriving field of research. This book will benefit scholars, researchers, and students who want to make a difference in practice, not just in the academy. Its message will make it essential reading for students and academics across the social sciences.

Phronetic organizational research is an approach to the study of management and organizations focusing on ethics and power. It is based on a contemporary interpretation of the Aristotelian concept phronesis, usually as ‘prudence’. Phronesis is the ability to think and act in relation to values, to deliberate about ‘things that are good or bad for humans’ in the words of Aristotle (1976:1140a24–b12). Phronetic organizational research effectively provides answers to the following four value-rational questions, for specific problematics in management and organization studies: 1. Where are we going with this specific management problematic? 2. Who gains and who loses, and by which mechanisms of power? 3. Is this development desirable? 4. What, if anything, should we do about it?

A number of influential educators and funders recently advocated the “teaching hospital” as a metaphor for how journalism educators should organize their programs. In this essay we argue that the metaphor is embedded in a conceptualization of journalism and of democracy that is unraveling. In response, we explore an alternative metaphor for journalism education based on entrepreneurship, in its sense as an organized response to change. Developing entrepreneurial education programs that instill more enterprise, flexibility and reflection among students and faculty could spur the creation of new forms of journalism and journalism organizations for the future.

Approximately 3 minutes after take-off in Kourou, French Guiana in 1996, Europe's Ariane five rocket exploded over the Atlantic. The launcher was developed by Arianespace, it is a commercial rocket launch services company, and it absolutely was carrying 2 satellites belonging to the European telecom’s consortium Eutelsat and the French space research institute, CNES. 37 seconds later, the rocket flipped ninety degrees (90o) in the wrong direction, and less than 2 seconds later, aerodynamic forces ripped the boosters apart from the main stage at the height of 4km. This caused the self-destruct mechanism to trigger. The damage cost approximately $400 million. The Ariane 4 had been in service for more than 20 years and showed off an excellent record of more than 100 successful launches without any failures. The Ariane 5 launch failure is one of the foremost expensive software system failures in history. This case study will report, identify, and analyze the poor requirements engineering practices that have contributed to the failure and will indicate briefly how those practices could be improved.

Foreign practice of financial management is increasingly drawn to the characteristics of cash flows in the assessment of the enterprise. The net cash flow is the objective result of the management, while the profit depends on the subjective approach of the adopted accounting policy. The financial situation of many enterprises in Ukraine is unsatisfactory. One of the ways to improve it is to optimize cash flows through balance and coherence between their individual types, to achieve a growth in net cash flow, which will increase solvency, financial sustainability and opportunities for self-financing of enterprises. According to the existing approach, cash flow optimization is viewed from the point of view of their time synchronization and balance in volume, before which cash flow equalization, maximization of net cash flow or provision of its target value. It is proved that most models of optimization of the balance of monetary assets are based on the definition of the minimum limit, but do not take into account the actual level of solvency of the enterprise, the objective lack of funds and circumstances associated with it. Moreover, the net cash flow is directly affected by the cash balances, rather than separately the amount of proceeds or expenditures. Therefore, optimization of cash flows should be based on interrelated criteria.
A model of cash flow optimization is proposed that combines a static approach to the formation of the optimum balance of monetary assets and a dynamic approach to cash flow management. The necessity of optimization of cash flows of the enterprise is proved on the basis of interrelated criteria: 1) formation of the optimal balance of monetary assets; 2) achievement of the target value of the net cash flow; 3) balance of cash flows by type of activity; 4) maximizing net cash flow from operating activities. The proposed model allows to accumulate the necessary amount of monetary assets during periods of high business activity and direct them in such a way that in the period of the shortage of funds, planned and necessary payments are made. Formation of the insurance balance of monetary assets would allow, on terms of self-financing, cover the period of shortage of funds and obtain additional income from the temporary placement of insurance and compensatory funds on the deposit account. Under such conditions an enterprise can avoid the costs of paying fines and penalties, and plan their calculations. Implementation of the proposed approach allows to improve the efficiency of cash flows from operating activities.
It is proved that in determining the optimal balance of funds, it is necessary to reconcile data on the nature and volume of income and expenditure of funds, the balance of funds at the beginning and end of the period, the level of solvency of the enterprise. It is taken into account that the balance of funds is shown in the amount of availability at the reporting date, and cash flow - for the period (year, quarter, month, day), the net cash flow directly affects the balance of cash assets. The target criterion for optimizing cash flows is the maximization of the net cash flow from operating activities to ensure the development of the enterprise on the basis of self-financing.
The achievement of the optimum balance of monetary assets is ensured by obtaining the target growth of net cash flow, which should be formed predominantly at the expense of operating activity. In order to maximize net cash flow from operating activities, the necessity to allocate its components for the input and output cash flows by types of activity and main directions of income and expenditure of funds is substantiated. In accordance with this, a form of cash flow statement is drawn up on the example of water transport enterprises, which meets the information needs of optimizing cash flows.

This has been a mosaic analysis on an important chunk of American and native American History. This story has been told a hundred and thousand times from a hundred and thousand perspectives, but never from this view. It is not ironic, that the story of America begins with the dream of India. In the Mahabharata, the Hindu’s epic poem of creation, which may be comparable to the mythological literature coopted by religious orders from all over the world, both structurally and thematically. Arjuna, the great warrior, had just returned from a gladiator match and shouted in excitement to inform his mother, Kunti, that he had won something so precious. Kunti, in her wisdom, surmised that since Arjuna had gone with his brothers, the Pandavas, said in her authoritative mode that "Whatever it is, share among all 5 of you". ‘Mother, but I have won my bride’, said Arjuna; her name is Draupadi. Kunti, who wouldn’t go back on her words, said:“You must share her with your brothers.”
