Obesity has risen dramatically in the past few decades. However, the relative contribution of energy intake and energy expenditure to rising obesity is not known. Moreover, the extent to which social and economic factors tip the energy balance is not well understood. In this longitudinal analysis of developed countries, we estimate the relative contribution of increased caloric intake and reduced

In this paper, a bibliometric analysis about open innovation research is developed, covering the period of 2003-2013 (using the Scopus database) and carried out in three steps: 1) characterization of the research on the main trends of open innovation; 2) analysis of the theoretical influence on the open innovation research; 3) analysis of the influence of open innovation literature on other research areas and disciplines. The main conclusions are: open innovation research is mostly focused on the analysis of the U.S.A. and European countries reality; analysis by time periods shows an increase on the number of target countries and regions of open innovation research; the origins of open innovation were influenced by several areas of economics and management, developed over the last decades; there is a lack of research regarding open innovation outside the firm environment, such as in clusters/networks, innovation systems, public policies or at individual level; open innovation resear...

Abstract This research work has two objectives. On the one hand, to analyze the influence that Perceived Usefulness of Programmatic Advertising (PA) has on the user's Concern about Privacy, and on the other, to check whether this relationship changes over time. That is, to find out how improvements in the effectiveness of programmatic advertising might increase the users' concern for privacy. Today, programmatic advertising can be very invasive, not only because of the use of cookies and geolocation, but also because of using algorithms that analyze users' interests in order to offer related products at a later date when the user visits other different websites which are not at all related to the first. Secondly, this document investigates whether this relationship increases over time and if there are any time-related effects. In this study, data from of a very large sample of Internet users in Spain (n = 14,822) was analyzed at three different moments of time between 2013 and 2017. PLS-SEM was used for the analysis given its usefulness in social studies. Several groups were analyzed to test the difference between the path coefficients of the latent variables at different moments in time. Academics and professionals will benefit from this document by being able to see the importance of this relationship over time and how it changes. The use of a longitudinal study allowed for an investigation into, not only the existence of the relationship, but how it changed over the years.

This paper presents the results of empirical research on the use of management accounting systems in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and the relationship with company performance. The results show that the use of planning and control methods differ significantly according to the size and industry of the firm. Successful companies seem to have more formal long-term plans. While

Scholars in the field have agreed that simultaneous bilingual children are capable of using their two languages discriminately according to the interlocutor from the earliest stages of development. However, the driver of the children's language choice patterns has yet to be shown. This study examines the impacts of quantitative and qualitative aspects of parental input on the language choice of bilingual children. Data are drawn from the longitudinal observations of two Japanese/English bilinguals around the age of two and their parents. The effects of language choice patterns and the discourse strategies of the parents on the children's language mixing are analyzed. The results reveal that consistency in a parent's language choice does not guarantee the child's constant use of the parent's language; in other words, similarity in the language choice patterns between parent and child was not always observed. We further find that how parents respond to children's inappropriate language choice contributes significantly to the strict separation of the two languages. It is concluded that input consistency needs to be reinforced by parental discourse strategies regarding language mixing in children.► We examine the impacts of parental input on bilingual children's language choice. Parental language choice patterns and discourse strategies are analyzed. ► Consistent language choice of parents did not guarantee that of the child. ► How parents respond to children's inappropriate language choice plays a key role. Input consistency and discourse strategies help strict pragmatic separation.

Soon after the concept of a management information system was introduced in the mid-1960s, marketers tailored it to their own unique needs, naming it the marketing information system (MKIS). Several studies have been conducted of how MKISs are used in the Fortune 500 companies, and the authors compare their current findings to those of ten and eighteen years ago.

- Electronic commerce, can dramatically alter the current delivery and sales channels, as well as value chains in many industries. Accordingly, consumers will change or supplement their channel preferences with increasing amount of electronic services available. This study focuses on the different types of business models used in the grocery retailing industry, to serve consumers. The empirical part of he analysis is based on a longitudinal analysis of existing EGS’ in 1998 and 1999 in Europe, North America and Pacific Asia. The analysis shows that the majority of the electronic grocery shops are extensions of existing physical stores. There are, however, some signs of interesting new ,business strategies. These ,strategies are compared,to the theoretical alternatives proposed by the model of Customer Channels and conclusions are drawn regarding the development of electronic commerce,in grocery industry.
