Current technological developments make companies have to start implementing everything using electronic media. One that can be applied by companies is by using an electronic filing system. This electronic filing system is used as one of the indicators of the effectiveness of the company's performance. The electronic filing system is used to filing all important company documents or information electronically into a computer. The electronic filing system will provide very useful benefits for all employees. However, the company is still not able to take full advantage of this system. This can happen due to limited human resources and companies that are too focused on other things so this electronic filing system is not given much attentions. This research was conducted to find out how the implementation of the electronic archive system can affect the productivity and work efficiency of employees so that the company can maximize and utilize it optimally. The research method used is by using the literature review method with secondary data sources derived from articles and journals on related topics. The end of this research shows that the implementation of the electronic filing system has a positive and significant impact on increasing employee productivity and work efficiency.

Open offices are taking over the office design landscape, their initial popularity being driven by technology companies and start-ups. Their advocates cite improved collaboration, increased socialization and a more cohesive collective intelligence leading to creativity and innovations not possible within conventional office design. However, more and more reports and studies are showing that open offices are having a negative impact on the individuals working in them, ranging from increased reported distraction and dissatisfaction at work, to elevated stress levels and an increase in rates of sick leave. Perhaps these would be a worthy price to pay for increased collaboration, but a recent Harvard study used biometric sensors to show that face to face interaction actually dropped by 70% when workplaces switched from conventional to open office floorplan (Bernstein 2018).

Nowadays architects are evidencing a trend towards office buildings that are covered with glazing façades. The goal of this paper is to reviewing the current literature to explain the relationship between the effect of glazing façades on the quality of the indoor environment and the efficiency of occupants in an office environment. To achieve the aim of the study, a literature review which have cases studies for office building has been performed. The research provides a thorough discussion and examination of various IEQ variables affected by glazing façades that influence the productivity of occupants. This paper recommends that the necessary studies be made on office buildings before using glazing facades, because of their implications on the productivity of occupants.

Ergonomics Risk Factors (ERFs) at computer works are commonly related to Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) such as repetitive movements, doing work in awkward postures and static postures while prolonged seating at works. The main objective of this study was to investigate the ergonomic risk factors associated with MSDs among employees in computer workstation. In this study, the data were obtained by structured interview using self-reported questionnaire and direct observation. The results show that there is significant association between neck and stress score with musculoskeletal symptoms and among office workers. As a conclusion, by assessing ERFs at workplace, the effectiveness of workplace interventions can be evaluated without waiting for changes in the prevalence of MSDs.

The field of office daylighting is vital for both energy efficiency practice and occupants’ visual comfort. With the
emergence of green building emergence in Malaysia, building designers are exploring avenues for energy efficiency
design; one common strategy is daylighting. The majority literature reviews on daylighting are skewed towards
temperate or developed countries, where sky luminous condition is different from that of the Tropics. Conventional
daylighting system designs redirect daylight from the envelope or atrium openings i.e. daylight shelves. Presumed to
be the pioneer daylight trough in the Tropics, this paper presents the simulated and in-situ lighting level measurements
prior to occupancy. This case study presents an as-built daylight trough design which is able to daylight the office
space as deep as 6 meters sufficiently. It achieves a lighting power density 1.90W/m2 and saves 39.2% of lighting
energy over conventional office lighting energy. Discussed further is the practicality of working with such a system,
including cost implication, return on investment and contractual challenges in reaching consensus of the design. The
results reinforce that the effectiveness of daylighting design is very dependable on the sun path and obstacles
surrounding the office tower. The RADIANCE simulation correlates well to field measurement results. Further
investigation into the light trough, its lighting energy savings, users’ interaction, visual comfort and glare is still
ongoing.

Energy Performance Index (EPI) is a parameter used to appraise and examine office, residential and commercial building energy efficiency during design, construction, renovation and operations. Similar buildings in North America and Europe have EPI of less than 150 kWh/sq m/year. Energy-conscious building design has been shown to reduce EPI to 100 to 150 kWh/sq m/year in India. However, this research indicates an EPI of between 21 to 41 kWh/sq m/year here in Nigeria. This gives an average of 31 kWh/sq m/year for the three (3) buildings studied. This low EPI is not unconnected with the fact that these Buildings lack HVAC equipment and other energy consuming devices that are required standards in developed and some developing regions. On the positive side, this low EPI indicates that the Carbon Emission Footprint of these buildings studied are low.

Office productivity is a major concern of managements. One factor is a mistaken view that changes in office productivity cannot be measured and that there is therefore no way of ensuring that action to improve performance achieves tangible results. However, the productivity of office work can be measured, and changes up and down can be detected allowing managerial action to be taken to ensure that improvement takes place. In the following article I suggest how to go about it.

According to findings in the field of environmental psychology, the architectural and social working environment have a significant impact on overall physical and psychological wellbeing and work performance. The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between architectural and social working conditions, psychological features, and work performance. The 5-year, risk-adjusted (Sharpe) investment performance of 40 Finnish professional fund managers was compared with the characteristics of their work environment and the psychological features of stress tolerance, complex problem solving and risk attitude. The results are in line with earlier findings that open-plan offices have negative consequences on the performance of cognitively demanding tasks. The number of people in the immediate vicinity (the same room and department) had the strongest negative effect on performance, especially because of decreased stress tolerance. These results should be considered preliminary because of the small sample size; further verification using a larger sample is needed.

The secretary is one of the supporters of a job or company that is very influential on the work activities that exist in a company. The existence of a secretary is very important, therefore to become a secretary of a company requires skills that will support the company. A secretary can have a significant effect on the work efficiency of a company because with a secretary the work system and work flow become clearer and less complicated. The secretary will create a workflow that is easily understood and carried out by other employees so that the existing work can be done well. As a secretary who is obliged to manage administrative matters, it takes foresight, and the ability to compile, process and distribute information to other colleagues.

Modern office management, both in the government and industry sectors, has increasingly utilized advanced technology based on ICT to provide the best service possible to the community. This study aims to analyze the One-Stop Integrated Service application's effectiveness at three district Ministry of Religious Affairs offices in East Java, Indonesia. The researchers collected data from reviewing the application features and manuals and interviews with the PTSP manager, staff, and users. The current study revealed three main conclusions. First, the PTSP is an online integrated public service program covering all sections' tasks and functions. Second, the application's use was effective and greatly improved the quality of public services seen from several indicators: service speed, ease of service procedures, service requirements, and service convenience. Third, generally, users were satisfied with the services provided through the PTSP application. The findings indicate that installing an ICT-based service system improves the efficiency and effectiveness of office management for increased user satisfaction. Therefore, other public offices may consider installing and using an ICT-based system to deliver the best possible public services.

The rapid development of information communication technology has led towards the emergence of the “connected world” characterised by the pervasive embeddedness of smart technologies. Smart technologies have a transformative impact on different domains of life. The application of smart technologies redefines the way people live, interact and conduct business. To date, the attention of the scholarly community has been paid primarily to smart cities, smart manufacturing and smart homes. However, despite numerous studies discussing the benefits of advanced technologies in the workplace, there is a lack of research on smart offices and how they affect productivity and employee well-being. This opinion paper argues that office spaces constitute a distinctive type of space, and research on smart homes or manufacturing does not suffice to capture its essence. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to propose a research agenda that can advance the current literature on smart and information communication technologies in relation to workplace spaces and the potential implications these could have on productivity.
