In this chapter, I will offer both an appreciative and critical examination of David Bohm’s vision
and practice of dialogue and how it relates to the field of dialogue studies. Bohm’s conception
of dialogue was ground-breaking in its time due to its emphasis on consciousness and unfolding
a fundamentally different order of communication mediated by collective awareness and
insight into the nature of thought and the dialogue process as a whole. Bohm’s conception and
process aspired to bring the human project of sharing meaning, values and learning forward by
introducing practices or ways of being with the dialogue process that interrupted conventional
practice at that time. In this paper, I examine key contributions of Bohm’s work as well as a
number of critiques and limitations of the practice. Finally, I comment briefly on the feasibility
of Bohm’s practice as a transformative approach to dialogue.

Knowledge of the in‐situ sound velocity of drilling mud can be used in mud‐pulse acoustic telemetry for evaluating the presence and amount of gas invasion in the drilling mud. We propose a model for calculating the in‐situ density and sound velocity of water‐based and oil‐based drilling muds containing formation gas. Drilling muds are modeled as a suspension of clay particles and high‐gravity solids in water or oil, with the acoustic properties of these fluids depending on pressure and temperature. Since mud at different depths experiences different pressures and temperatures, downhole mud weights can be significantly different from those measured at the surface. Taking this fact into consideration, we assume constant clay composition and obtained the fraction of high‐gravity solids to balance the formation pressure corresponding to a given drilling plan. This gives the in‐situ density of the drilling mud, which together with the bulk moduli of the single constituents allow us to co...

The high degree of overlap of race and poverty in our society has led to the presumption in both research and practice that ethnic disproportionality in special education is in large measure an artifact of the effects of poverty. This article explores relationships among race, poverty, and special education identification to arrive at a more precise estimate of the contribution of poverty to racial disparities. District-level data for all 295 school corporations in a midwestern state were analyzed for this study. Records included information on disability category, general and special education enrollment by race, socioeconomic level, local resources, and academic and social outcomes for 1 school year. Simple correlations among the variables demonstrate that correlations between race and poverty of even moderate strength do not guarantee that the 2 variables will function in the same way with respect to outcome variables, such as identification for special education services. Result...

A study on the impact of dimensions of risk management such as project complexity, project planning and control, project team and organizational environment on risk management practices of IT firms that develop and manage projects in the UAE The IT sector has been growing at a rapid rate in a country like UAE due to the impetus and incentives offered by the rulers with a view to transform the country as a hub of knowledge management center. Opportunities for various projects are identified by the government and offered to private as well as public sector undertakings to trigger off the momentum of diversification. Many information technology companies exist in the country and the sector has been growing as a major provider of employment opportunities to qualified job seekers across the world. From various studies, it has been found that the projects handled by many companies fail to give proper attention to the risk management aspect and the failure of many projects in the form of time overrun, higher cost and failure to fulfill customer requirements can be attributed to the absence of proper care given to various dimensions of risk management as well as various aspects of risk management practice. Hence, the study focuses on the relationship between certain primary dimensions of risk management and its impact on risk management practices such as risk identification, risk analysis, risk response planning and risk response monitoring and controlling. The study reveals a very strong positive correlation between two major aspects of risk management in projects which are risk dimensions and risk management practice.

The gap in achievement across racial and ethnic groups has been a focus of education research for decades, but the disproportionate suspension and expulsion of Black, Latino, and American Indian students has received less attention. This article synthesizes research on racial and ethnic patterns in school sanctions and considers how disproportionate discipline might contribute to lagging achievement among students of color. It further examines the evidence for student, school, and community contributors to the racial and ethnic patterns in school sanctions, and it offers promising directions for gap-reducing discipline policies and practices.

The beneficial relationship of school climate with various positive student outcomes has been demonstrated in several studies, though the relationship has not been thoroughly explored with regards to a student’s likelihood of being suspended from school. The relationship of school climate and out-of-school suspensions was investigated using a nationally-representative sample of 10th grade students. Regression results, which included student- and school-level factors, indicated that an authoritative school climate, characterized by an environment with fair and just rules, was associated with the reduced likelihood of suspensions, over and above other predictors. Although the relationship may be characterized as small (OR = 0.82), the positive benefits to students are likely cumulative over each year the student is in school.

Suspension system is one of the challenging portions in designing a vehicle. The
complete stability of the vehicle under dynamic conditions depends on the suspension system of
the vehicle. Suspension system of a vehicle is interlinked with other systems such as steering,
Wheels and Brakes. The main objective of this document is to provide complete guidance in
designing and calculation of an independent suspension system with double control arms. The
required parameters are calculated on considering a prototype vehicle with gross weight of 350 kg
such as required stiffness of shock absorbers, Ride frequency, Motion ratio, Coefficient of
damping etc. A CADD model was made with CATIA v5 r20 and SOLIDWORKS on the basis of
calculations obtained and stress analysis was carried out for this model in various software such
as Ansys. The complete assembled model was tested in LOTUS Shark and the result was obtained.

There is a significant amount of goods that are transported using tractor trailers. Most high-value products, such as electronics, highly perishable goods like fruits and vegetables and most retail consumer products, are shipped using trucks in North America. It is therefore important to measure and quantify the levels of vibration that occur inside this mode of transport as it pertains to damage. Vibration levels inside a tractor-trailer are a function of the road surface, the speed of the vehicle, the type of suspension and the structure of the trailer. The purpose of this study was to determine the levels of vibration as a function of trailer suspension at normal operating speeds in commercially used truck equipment, over 16000km of road surfaces in North America. It is an antibacterial, antifungal and antiprotozoal in nature, and is used in many areas of the world in poultry and swine rearing to fight microbial infections and in growth promotion. A simple, rapid, economic, accurate reverse phase isocratic HPLC method was developed for quantification of Halquinol in different dosage forms such as suspension and bolus. The method was validated with respect to linearity, precision, accuracy and robustness as per the International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH) guidelines. The calibration curve was linear in the range of 12-28 µg/mL-1 for 5-chloroquinolin-8-ol and 33-77 µg/mL-1 for 5,7-dichloroquinolin-8-ol respectively. The method has been successfully applied for the analysis of Halquinol in pharmaceutical dosage forms.

How can a materialist approach contribute to the development of contemporary dance and cho-reography? That is the question that this article aims to investigate through the formulation of the current status of the ongoing artistic research project Movement Material. The project relates to topics within the philosophy of materialism, but focuses on practical artistic research. The article delineates the knowledge production that may emerge from the exploration of a materialist approach to dancing, understood as an attunement between sensory and cognitive capacities. These two capacities are understood as relational and transposed into the practice through two terms, dance and choreography. To contextualize the research topic in focus, the article starts by describing related research along with some background information about how my previous PhD research (From Model to Module – a Move Towards Generative Choreography (Ölme, 2014)) in the subsequent years, led to the formulation of the research questions of the current

In modern era, steer ability and handling characteristics of the vehicle have become major aspects. Providing comfort. To the driver by reducing steering effort without any compromise in steer ability and handling of the vehicle with ride comfort is a major Concern for automakers. Evaluating handling and steering characteristics of a vehicle in a virtual environment with the help of multi-body system packages saves product development time and cost. The main intention is to improve the steer ability and handling of the vehicle by avoiding the steering pull and wheel wandering problems for high speed cornering and straight-line stability. This paper discusses the dynamic effect of caster angle on the steering and suspension system. Automatic dynamics of mechanical system (MSC ADAMS) has become an important feature of roadside hardware design and analysis in recent year.so the analysis is carried out using the existing model in MSC ADAMS\CAR and editing the parameters as per standard car data. Using this model, maneuvers over standard track with initial speed of 100kmph for different values of caster angle at front wheel keeping the rear caster angle zero parameters, were simulated. The steering effort, steering wheel return ability and the lateral forces produced by the tires were obtained in order to predict the Behavior of the vehicle for different wheel geometry parameters. It can be seen from the results that positive caster angles improve the steering wheel return ability but increase the steering effort. Higher steering axle inclination (Sai) angles help in improving the steering wheel return ability and decreasing the steering effort as well. Negative camber angles help in producing higher lateral forces to improve the corner ability of the vehicle. Toe-in angles help in improving the straight-line stability whereas toe-out angles help in improving the cornering.

In this study, a carbon fibre swingarm was designed with the aim of minimising weight while maintaining stiffness. The vertical and torsional stiffness values of the prototype were measured to be 500 kN/m and 550 Nm/deg respectively. The prototype vertical stiffness is of an order of magnitude greater than the suspension stiffness (a deemed satisfactory minimum). The torsional stiffness of 550 Nm/deg is comparable to published values. The prototype carbon fibre swingarm is 1.5 kg lighter than its aluminium counterpart: a weight saving of 29%. A finite element (FE) model was developed which will be used to further reduce the weight of the swingarm. Validating the FE model using strain gauges produced mixed results. The FEA (finite element analysis) showed good correlation with the vertical displacement of the swingarm and reasonable correlation with the torsional deflection. The study illustrates the superior stiffness to weight ratio of carbon fibre (an important feature in its growing use in automotive component manufacturing) and the importance of validating FE models using macro-measurements (e.g. deflection) when dealing with complex composite structures which have ply overlap and high strain gradients.

ARTICLE INFO This universal tilting three wheeler mechanism which uses the tilting frame structure and bracket together and it can be utilized for any type of motorcycle having bracket is fixed to the chassis of that vehicle. The main advantage of this mechanism is that it can tilt while turning like motorcycle. By this leaning the centre of gravity balances the centrifugal force which is acting on the vehicle and makes it more stable during turning. It gives more traction when roads are slippery. The third wheel offers better braking as well as increases stability. It gives comfortable ride.
