Nowadays, daily life intensively depends on public services. Increasing population and urbanization take humans away from environment which may lead to chaos in usage of city lands. Consequently, human is in trouble using public services and facilities including green spaces. Isfahan, one of the metropolitans, has 18 m2 green spaces per person while City Park of district 8 is of inappropriate distribution with regard to population density. To create a localization map of civil park, Isfahan district 8 has been selected. The selected district delimits to Baharestan in north and to Kaveh street in west and to Shahid Forouqi in south and to Emam Komeini street in west-south. Finally, GIS has been used to create given layers and calculate weights based on AHP. According to overlap between layers, the most appropriate places have been identified.

The text presents the results of geotecnologica research conducted at the Graduate Program in the Catholic University of Minas Gerais- PUC-MG, Belo Horizonte - Laboratory of Spatial Information Systems, at the Discipline named "Special Topics - Web Geovisualization" using the geolocation service embedded in a cellular application called SOS FaEnge as an instrument to the location of local relevance between the university and the students when a questionnaire and interview was applied aiming the students' knowledge about geotechnology uses in urban practice and best sites for docents. The results indicate that the application has obtained a great relevance to the students as users, because their practice and assignments helped provide a geo-location service to urban structures in the city in a didactic way, contributing to local development.

Water is one of the world's most valuable resources. Water is required for a variety of tasks in our daily lives. The traditional method of damming rivers and transferring water to urban areas has its own set of social and political difficulties. In order to preserve water and satisfy our daily demands, we must consider alternative cost-effective and relatively simple technical techniques of water conservation. Rooftop rainwater collecting is one of the most effective ways to meet these needs. To begin, the necessary data, such as catchment regions and hydrological rainfall data, are gathered. The collected water must be analysed physically, chemically, and biologically in a laboratory setting. The rooftop's water collecting potential must be calculated. In this review paper methods of analyzing rooftop materials, basic rooftop designing for rainwater harvesting and new technological updates in identification and evaluation of a potential rooftop for rainwater harvesting are reviewed.

The topic of land recycling is a permanent issue in Saxony-Anhalt – in Germany – in Europe. The remediation and revitalisation of brownfield sites and vacant commercial buildings is highly interesting both from an urban development and from an environmental point of view. Brownfield development can help to reduce land take and to strengthen the central areas of our cities and municipalities. Each specialist discipline views such projects from its own perspective – from the remediation of contaminated sites, via real estate development, to urban and environmental planning. For a successful and efficient project implementation, a good cooperation of the different experts and authorities is of great importance. In the Interreg project “GreenerSites” such cooperations are sought and promoted in order to jointly develop a comprehensive perspective: land recycling as a component of resource-saving urban development. Among other things, the Saxony-Anhalt Ministry of Regional Development and Transport is responsible for the development of a site information system for online collaboration between public institutions. This webGIS tool is presented in the article. Moreover, the paper deals with fundamental questions of land take, land recycling as well as GIS-based methods of brownfield management.

This paper proposes development of an android app to improve the transportation services for bus rental companies that lift Taibah University students. It intends to reduce the waiting time for bus students, thereby to stimulate sharing of updated information between the bus drivers and students. The application can run only on android devices. It would inform the students about the exact time of arrival and departure of buses on route. This proposed app would specifically be used by students and drivers of Taibah University. Any change in the scheduled movement of the buses would be updated in the software. Regular alerts would be sent in case of delays or cancelation of buses. Bus locations and routes are shown on dynamic maps using Google maps. The application is designed and tested where the users assured that the application gives the real time service and it is very helpful for them.

Nello specifico: metodi e criteri per la registrazione dei dati (differenziati sulla base delle fonti e degli ambiti di rinvenimento e trattati anche nella prospettiva delle modalità di georeferenziazione), per la loro interrogazione e organizzazione (creazione di tematismi), elaborazione (varie tipologie di analisi dei dati) e restituzione (da quella cartacea al web-GIS).
Il capitolo termina con la presentazione (a cura di Stefano Bertoldi) delle piattaforme web-GIS dell'Area di Archeologia Medievale dell'Università di Siena.

The aim of this paper is to investigate the influence of the implementation of WebGIS Story Μaps in teaching and learning. As an interactive digital storytelling tool, available online, it has considerable potential to enhance teaching methods and may help students develop spatial and critical thinking as well as inquiry skills. An interdisciplinary/cross-curricular approach was implemented in the Physics course as a case study. The research was conducted in two schools on Lesvos island: the Experimental General Senior High School and the General Evening Senior High School. The research sample was 45 students, who produced digital stories, during the interventions. The tools of the research were a pre and post test questionnaire and students' digital stories. The findings showed that students enjoyed participating in digital narrative activities, while at the same time they increased their knowledge of Physics.

Human influences strongly affect the Earth Surface, environment and impact natural resources. To reduce the disadvantages, we have to monitor the human activities as well as the environment. Considering the rapid increase of population the loss of agricultural land is a very dangerous situation for the future of the country. Multi temporal Remote Sensing data is the most powerful tool for mapping and monitoring the land use changes and GIS is the best way to store and reproduce various kinds of integrated data. The aim of this study is to determine agricultural land loss and environmental changes caused by urban sprawl and industrialization using the Multi temporal Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographical Information System (GIS). A major problem of rapid urban growth is changing land use patterns. Agricultural lands are most affected by rapid urbanization and its functions of demand. In this study, a database will create the parameters of land loss and environmental changes by means of field observation, interpretation of satellite images like Landsat-ETM+, LISS IV .Through this study, which aimed to reveal the characteristics of the areas of land already lost as well as the types of land use in the hosur city and to determine geographically the remaining areas in need of protection, local authorities were provided with the required data support.

Pada masa sekarang ini tidak jarang masyarakat merantau ke daerah lain untuk mencari nafkah atau menimbah ilmu dan menetap didaerah lain tersebut. Oleh sebab itu saya membuat sistem informasi geografis letak kos-kosan khususnya daerah Kedawung, Cirebon yang mana didaerah tersebut terdapat kampus Stikom Poltek yang sebagian besar mahasiswanya berasal dari luar kota Cirebon sehingga nantinya sistem informasi geografis ini dapat membantu mahasiswa dan masyarakat yang membutuhkan kos-kosan. Banyak sekali tempat kos yang dapat menjadi pilihan untuk tempat tinggal sementara, dimana tempat-tempat kos tersebut berada dalam lokasi atau daerah yang berbeda-beda. Daerah-daerah tempat kos tersebut berbeda tingkat kestrategisannya, sehingga setiap orang yang mencari tempat kos akan menjadi kesulitan karena tidak dapat melihat daerah-daerah mana yang strategis dan kurang strategis.

Teknolojik gelişmelerle bağlı olarak web tabanlı uygulamaların kullanım oranı da artmıştır. Günümüzde çoğu uygulamalar web üzerinden çalışabilir hale gelmeye başlamıştır. Bu kapsamdaki uygulamalar arasında haritacılık uygulamaları da bulunmaktadır. Haritacılık uygulamaları olarak ilk akla gelen uygulamalar Google Earth ve Bing Maps uygulamalarıdır. Bu yazılımların yüksek çözünürlüklü uydu görüntülerini sunması ve ücretsiz olarak kullanılabilirliği kullanım oranlarını arttırmıştır.
Haritacılık uygulamalarının değerini arttıran şüphesiz üzerindeki veriler ve bu verilerin doğruluğudur. Uydu görüntüleri ile beraber bir yerin gösterilmesini sağlayan en önemli husus yerleşim yerleridir. Söz konusu yerleşim yerleri haritacılık uygulamalarında hızlı bir yönlendirme yapmayı sağlamaktadır. Kullanıcılar haritadan aradıkları bölgeleri yer isimlerini kullanarak bulabilmektedirler. Bu sebeple bu verilerin güncelliği ve doğruluğu önem arz etmektedir.
Bu kapsamda güncel yerleşim yeri isimleri Harita Genel Komutanlığınca bir veritabanı ortamında kayıt edilmektedir. Bu çalışmada Türkiye’deki yerleşim yeri isimlerinin internet üzerinden sunumu için geliştirilen uygulama hakkında bilgiler verilmiştir.

Kota Kediri terletak di provinsi Jawa Timur, jumlah penduduknya menurut data BPS (Badan Pusat Statistik)
sebesar 267.310 jiwa pada sensus tahun 2013. Semakin hari jumlah penduduk semakin bertambah begitupun juga dengan jumlah kendaraan, baik sepeda motor, mobil, maupun kendaraan berat juga semakin bertambah. Data volume diolah oleh Dinas Perhubungan Kota Kediri secara manual dengan penyajian dalam bentuk tabel dan grafik. Data ini digunakan sebagai acuan untuk merekayasa lalu lintas agar kemacetan tidak terjadi di beberepa ruas jalan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat sebuah sistem informasi berbasis web yang dapat menampilkan penyebaran jumlah volume kendaraan disetiap ruas jalan di wilayah Kota Kediri. Dengan pengamatan pola penyebaran volume kendaraan berbasis web-GIS ini, maka
pemangku kebijakan dapat menganalisis dan mengambil sebuah kebijakan dalam perencanaan rekayasa lalu lintas dengan akurat. Metode yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini adalah menganalisa kebutuhan sistem, merancang sistem, dan mengimplementasikan program dengan menggunakan pemetaan Google Maps API dan bahasa pemrograman PHP serta database MySQL. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebuah aplikasi GIS berbasis web yang dapat memvisualisakan data volume kendaraan disetiap ruas jalan di wilayah Kota Kediri.

Tóm tắt : Bài viết này trình bày kết quả nghiên cứu xác lập hệ thống các chỉ tiêu quản lý tài nguyên môi trường nhằm xây dựng một hệ cơ sở dữ liệu (CSDL) quản lý thống nhất cho các tỉnh thuộc vùng Tây Nguyên. Đồng thời cũng cung cấp thông tin quản lý tài nguyên môi trường phục vụ cho các cấp lãnh đạo, quản lý của địa phương và cộng đồng. Hệ CSDL quản lý các chỉ tiêu tài nguyên môi trường được xây dựng trên cơ sở ứng dụng công nghệ Web-GIS trong quản lý, lưu trữ, cung cấp thông tin quản lý và được thể hiện tại địa chỉ http://tnmt.tvcchn.com.

Hava fotoğrafı, uçak, helikopter, balon, uçurtma gibi hava araçlarından hava kamerası ile çekilen fotoğraftır. Hava fotoğrafı harita yapımında başvurulan temel kaynaklardan bir tanesidir. Bu yüzden haritacılık alanında faaliyet gösteren kamu kurum ve kuruluşları ile özel şirketler de benzer veriler ile çalışmaktadır.
Harita Genel Komutanlığı da hava fotoğrafı çekimi yapan bir kuruluştur ve her geçen gün hava fotoğraflarının sayısı artmaktadır. Bu yüzden veri tekrarlarının önlenmesi ve ortak veriler ile çalışılması için arşiv sistemine ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Bu kapsamda hava fotoğraflarının bir veritabanı içerisinde tutulması, internet ortamında sorgulanabilmesi ve sunulması amacıyla Hava Fotoğrafı Arşivi Bilgi Sistemi geliştirilmiştir.
Geliştirilen uygulama ile kamu kurum ve kuruluşları, mahkemeler ve özel sektörün ihtiyaçları karşılanabilecektir.

This paper aims at establishing changes in land use and land cover in Igbokoda municipality using Geographic Information System and remote sensing techniques. Three satellite images for three different epochs 1986, 1999 and 2013 were used to produce a land use/land cover map classification for Igbokoda. In determining the extent of land use/land cover changes in the township from 1986 through 1999 to 2013, Landsat images of the town were downloaded from the United State Geological Survey online archive. The images were analyzed using change detection technique (NDVI differencing) along with SRTM 90m DEM of the study area to generate the extent of the changes that have occurred. Ground trotting was carried out to ascertain the accuracy of data and the major changes in the land use/land cover. Results show that vegetation has decreased from 75.04% in 1986 to 46.81% in 2013 which was due to increase in population and rapid urbanization. In 1996 the Built-up area covers 19.6321 km2 of the study area but has increased rapidly to 39.1505 km2 in the year 1999 with an average annual increment of 2.025Km2/year. By the year 2013, the built-up area has increased to 64.1520Km2. Also in the same vein, the bare surface area which was 13.28029km2 in 1986 was increased to 39.6053 and 50.240Km2 in 1999 and 2013 respectively. On the contrary, the vegetated area of Igbokoda reduced from 196.3046Km2 in 1999 to 122.4680Km2 in 2013. This study has demonstrated that remotely sensed data and GIS based approach is timely and cost effective than the conventional method of analysis, classification of land use pattern effective for planning and management. It further shows that If the rapid change in land use is not properly manage, the situation poses a serious threat to Igbokoda town by increasing surface runoff and susceptibility to flooding.

There has been an increasing need for geospatial information that is delivered through internet technologies. This broad category of systems is referred to as Web Geographic Information Systems (Web GIS). These systems exhibit characteristics common to both stand-alone and web-based systems making it necessary to apply a hybrid methodology during their development. This paper proposes a methodology for developing Web GIS that is herein referred to as the Y-Model Web GIS Development Methodology (YWDM) which has been adapted from existing software development methodologies and applied to the context of Web GIS development. The paper outlines in details the phases of the methodology. Its viability as a methodology has been tested through its use in the implementation of the Emuhaya Web GIS portal. The methodology presented here is not intended to be a rigid guide for web GIS development but instead it provides a useful framework for guiding the process.

Floods are one of the most common and widely distributed natural risks to life and property. Due to such hazards associated with flooding as disruption of services, health impacts, famine and disease, flood protection must be taken into account in almost all development projects. Feasibility study of flood and evaluating the sensitive places prone to flood is the main step for controlling and managing the flood and utilizing it. Kaleybar Chay basin, that is located in East Azerbaijan province, is one of the areas which has experienced several floods during the last years and because of mismanagement, it has caused several life and property losses to the residents of this area. In this study, the effective factors which impact on flooding, from physical, hydrological and environmental factors were explored through executing the ANP model. Through the present research, the ETM + image of the Landsat satellite and the ANP model were used considering their abilities in analyzing the criteria and coefficient of their results with their real world. The results of the study showed that in ANP method, 20 percent of the area which is in the north areas of the basin has the high risk from flooding aspect; the results of the study were supplied for recognizing the area with high possibility of flooding in Kaleybar Chay basin and the provided maps will be used in executive organizations (such as governorate, natural resources) for logistics planning and controlling the flood.

Este libro es producto del proyecto de investigación Diseño e implementación de objetos virtuales de aprendizaje basados en problemas, para la formación específica en Sistemas de Información Geográfica de Código Abierto OPENGIS y Software Libre FOSS (Free and Open Source Software). El propósito de este texto es exponer metódicamente el análisis y la solución de problemas con componente geoinformático (adquisición, almacenamiento, procesamiento y despliegue de geodatos), para apoyar el logro de capacidades en los procesos de formación en las áreas de Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG), Geoinformática y afines, de la misma manera que proponer problemas cuyo proceso de análisis y solución puedan generar ideas de investigación y nuevas temáticas de trabajo en el aula.
Para estructurar contenidos interactivos sobre temas de geoinformática, que luego se puedan empaquetar como objetos de aprendizaje de fácil uso, se requiere conformar equipos de trabajo con especialistas en diferentes áreas de la geoinformática para que diseñen problemas contextualizados, de interés para el estudiante y para la industria, que exijan trabajo cooperativo, justificación y explicación de suposiciones y toma de decisiones por parte de los estudiantes; además, que motiven a comprender nuevos conceptos, relacionen el tema con el entorno, con preguntas iniciales motivadoras, generen controversia, vínculos con conocimientos previos y respuestas y soluciones diversas.
