The majority of social science studies on self-driving vehicles has focused on accepting technology using a methodology that investigates direct relationships only. However, there is an increasing demand for an in-depth social analysis of self-driving vehicle acceptance, exploring more complex relationships. Here, this challenge is responded to by the statistical modelling of the acceptance of self-driving technology, allowing for an exploration of the direct and indirect relationships among the relevant variables. Most previous studies have also been conducted in developed countries, and limited information is available on the acceptance of self-driving technology in less-developed countries.
The present study constructs an explanatory statistical model of the Hungarian population’s concept of self-driving vehicles based on a representative sample of 1,001 participants. Furthermore, a graphical representation of the model is provided. The main results include the determination of the most influential factors on the acceptance of self-driving vehicles and the attribution of direct and indirect relationships among the variables, thus providing deeper knowledge than that previously obtained and complementing the currently available research results. Based on our results, the expected advantages of self-driving technology have the greatest direct and total impact on the acceptance of this technology in Hungary. The enthusiasm for new technologies and the expected disadvantages of self-driving technology has a slightly weaker direct and second-largest total impact. Information needs on self-driving technology, awareness of driving support systems, and perceived usefulness of new technologies had a weak but significant direct impact.
The results of our study will provide essential information for the successful integration of self-driving technologies into the innovation systems of less-developed countries.

Electronic banking (e-banking) is a form of banking in which funds are transferred through an exchange of electronic signals along to the traditional banking process as the exchange of cash, checks, or other types of paper documents. Moreover, the general tendencies of the Iraqi government in line with other countries to adopt e-banking and provide e-services to customers. However, the determinants of e-banking services need to investigate to determine the variables affecting the rate of such adoption. Thus, the main aim of this study is to identify the determinants of e-banking services in Iraq. Hence, this study gives an investigation using the technology acceptance model (TAM) by selecting a sample for many Iraqi banks' customers and staff to determine the determinants of user acceptance of e-banking. A preliminary study was conducted to empirically determine the user acceptance determinants of e-banking. For data collection, a quantitative method was used represented by the questionnaire. The selected sample for the investigation is 200 (customers and staff). Several methods have used for data analysis such as hierarchical regression, one-way ANOVA, descriptive statistics, t-test as well as structural equation modeling (SEM). The obtained outcomes show there are several determinants of e-banking services in Iraq that have determined in this study. Moreover, this study confirms the overcoming of those determinants will give a highly positive impact on e-banking services. The paper presents an empirical model of acceptance of mobile phones by elderly people. It is based on an extension of the widely used TAM-Technology Acceptance Model and aims specifically at investigating the relationship among intrinsic and extrinsic motivations to use. The data consists of 740 questionnaires from people over 65 years old. The validated model shows that intrinsic motivations play an important role albeit always mediated by utilitarian motives. Similarly, it emerges a strong influence of the reference social group (children and relatives) in increasing the utilitarian values of the use of mobile phones. These findings suggest that mobile phone usage by elderly might not be, after all, too much different, from a motivational point of view, from that of younger or adult people.

The acquisition of non-proprietary and proprietary learning management system has provided a richer learning experience to users and raised interest among education providers. This study aims to assess student adoption of Canvas as a new learning management system and its potential as a webbased platform in the e-learning programme of the University of the East. This study also assessed student readiness in using Canvas. A survey was administered to 214 students of the University of the East through snowball sampling. An Exploratory Factor Analysis was conducted to examine the validity of the model. A Confirmatory Factory Analysis was used to validate the Exploratory Factor Analysis results and analyse the correlation of the constructs. A Structural Equation Modelling was conducted to analyse the relationships between the constructs, which were evaluated using fit indices. Adopted from the Technology Acceptance Model, the constructs perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and a...

This paper presents an extension to the technology acceptance model (TAM) and empirically examines it in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation environment. The study evaluated the impact of one belief construct (shared beliefs in the benefits of a technology) and two widely recognized technology implementation success factors (training and communication) on the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use during technology implementation. Shared beliefs refer to the beliefs that organizational participants share with their peers and superiors on the benefits of the ERP system. Using data gathered from the implementation of an ERP system, we showed that both training and project communication influence the shared beliefs that users form about the benefits of the technology and that the shared beliefs influence the perceived usefulness and ease of use of the technology. Thus, we provided empirical and theoretical support for the use of managerial interventions, such a...

This research investigates the applicability of Davis' technology acceptance model to user acceptance of a knowledge management information system. It addresses two important questions: "Does the technology acceptance model explain user acceptance and usage of an information system implemented to support knowledge management objectives?" ''Can previous technology acceptance model user acceptance research serve as a basis for investigation of user acceptance of knowledge management information technology systems?" This study provides preliminary evidence that previous information technology acceptance research based on the technology acceptance model, may serve as a foundation for research of knowledge management system user acceptance. Relationships among primary TAM constructs are in substantive agreement with those characteristic of previous TAM research. Significant positive relationships between perceived usefulness, ease of use, and system usage were consistent with previous TAM research. The observed mediating role of perceived usefulness in the relationship between ease of use and usage was also in consonance with earlier findings. The findings are significant because they suggest that the considerable body of previous TAM related information technology research may be usefully applied to the knowledge management domain, and promote further investigation of factors affecting the user acceptance and usage of knowledge management information systems.

Wireless network technologies present unique opportunities and challenges for businesses, and Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are no exception. Recently Vankatesh et al. (2003) proposed a more complete model for the understanding of the acceptance and adoption of Information Technology. Their model builds upon and extends beyond the well established Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This study utilizes this new Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to further validate the model and enhance our understanding of the adoption of wireless technologies as well as SME adoption.

This paper highlights the factors affecting customer acceptance of online banking in Pakistan. The factors include Perceived Credibility, Perceived Usefulness, Social Risk and the moderating effect of Technophobia on all three relationships of independent variables with Customer Acceptance. Online banking is growing in Pakistan at a gradual pace, and tapping this growth is cardinal for banks. The primary rationale of this research is to scrutinize the customer acceptance of online banking in Pakistan. As a conceptual framework an extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was developed to investigate the influencing determinants of customer acceptance. The study was conducted in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, and data was collected through questionnaires administered both personally and online. The regression results of the study showed that Customer Acceptance is affected by the three independent variables, and that Technophobia only moderates the relation between Perceived Credibility ...

Prior research has provided valuable insights into how and why employees make a decision about the adoption and use of information technologies (ITs) in the workplace. From an organizational point of view, however, the more important issue is how managers make informed decisions about interventions that can lead to greater acceptance and effective utilization of IT. There is limited research in the IT implementation literature that deals with the role of interventions to aid such managerial decision making. Particularly, there is a need to understand how various interventions can influence the known determinants of IT adoption and use. To address this gap in the literature, we draw from the vast body of research on the technology acceptance model (TAM), particularly the work on the determinants of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, and: (i) develop a comprehensive nomological network (integrated model) of the determinants of individual level (IT) adoption and use; (ii) empirically test the proposed integrated model; and (iii) present a research agenda focused on potential pre- and postimplementation interventions that can enhance employees' adoption and use of IT. Our findings and research agenda have important implications for managerial decision making on IT implementation in organizations.

Adoption of Information Technologies (ITs) is a crucial decision for the growth, productivity, competitiveness, and even survival in a competitive market. Organizations adopt IT innovations to sustain their competitive position as well as to create competitive advantage. Tornatzky and Fleischer (1990) developed a framework named TOE that comprises three key determinants that affect organizational adoption: technology, organization, and environment. This framework has been used successfully in the study of adoption within organizations. Based on this framework, the purpose of this paper is to conduct a systematic review of the literature to understand important adoption factors of Information Technologies in organizations.

The purpose of this paper is to gain a better understanding of
user acceptance of Biometric Technologies (BT) at outdoor
music festivals in the United Kingdom. While research on such
technologies, such as facial recognition is limited in the events
context, they have already been deployed at music festivals to
deal with issues of security, safety and crowd management.
Using an extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), a
self-administered questionnaire was completed by young
adults in the United Kingdom who had previously been to a
music festival. The study found factors such as privacy, reliability and accuracy did not have a significant impact on user
acceptance. Other factors, such as trust, compatibility and convenience were found to have a significant positive impact on
perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and attitude to
use. As the findings indicate that accuracy and privacy do not
impact BT acceptance, the paper explores how organizers can
be transparent and accountable as to their intentions to use
BT, so as to justify the usefulness of BT to attendees, artists,
regulators and authorities.

The development of information technology and internet is influencing all industry sectors including hotel industry. To support the sustainability of business, the hotel has implemented information technology such as: online booking system, Wi-fi in the public area, and information system for internal hotel needs. This Information technology is run in the IT infrastructure and connected with local network and internet. To support this technology, the hotel has been doing the procurement of IT devices such as: Server, network devices (switches, routers, etc.) and IT security devices (firewall, antivirus). There is currently no evaluation of how effective and efficient the use of server devices, network devices and security devices IT. Therefore it is necessary to evaluate the information technology implementation at Le Meridien Hotel Jakarta. This evaluation uses the COBIT 4.1 framework. By evaluating the information technology infrastructure at Le Meridien Hotel Jakarta, it is expected to provide input on the effectiveness and efficiency of the use of devices that currently used in the hotel.

This research extends the theory of planned behavior (TPB) by incorporating gender and age as moderators of user perceptions and individual adoption and sustained use of technology in the workplace. Individual reactions and technology use behavior were studied over a 6-month period among 342 workers being introduced to a new software technology application. While previous studies in the literature have reported gender or age differences separately, the pattern of results from the study reported here indicated that gender effects in individual adoption and use of technology differed based on age. Specifically, gender differences in technology perceptions became more pronounced among older workers, but a unisex pattern of results emerged among younger workers. The theory and empirical results are also discussed in relation to the widely-employed technology acceptance model (TAM). In light of these findings, theoretical and practical implications are discussed.

Social media websites have created valuable opportunities for electronic word of mouth (eWOM) conversations. People are now able to discuss products and services of brands with their friends and acquaintances. The aim of this study is to examine the influence of these conversations in social media on consumers' purchase intentions. For this purpose, a conceptual model was developed based on the integration of Information Adoption Model (IAM) and related components of Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA). The new model, which is named as Information Acceptance Model (IACM), was validated through structural equation modelling (SEM) based on surveys of 384 university students who use social media websites. The results confirm that quality, credibility, usefulness and adoption of information, needs of information and attitude towards information are the key factors of eWOM in social media that influence consumers' purchase intentions. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed as well as recommendations for further research.
