Email has a key role in the explosive growth of the Internet, calling for Mailing List Management Systems (MLMS) that can adapt to, and even foster, new forms of community organization as they emerge. A new MLMS, Mailman, is well suited to such evolution because it has been developed to be versatile and extensible. One factor contributing to these strengths is its implementation in Python. In this paper we will look at various aspects of Mailman's extensibility. We will consider how the system's design and how features of its implementation language, Python, factor into that extensibility.

This study examines how U.S. college students’ social media use affects their school
e-mail avoidance and campus involvement. We found that text-messaging is the most frequently used medium for college students in general. However, communication and business students are more likely to use social media as the primary communication medium than other majors and they are more likely to be involved in the campus community. We created a typology of two social media user types by the specific combination of social media outlets they use and the frequency of use in those outlets as “instant communicators” and “online content curators” based on factor analysis. Increased use of social media leads to lower school e-mail avoidance. Upper-class students are more likely to avoid school e-mails. Facebook is the only social media outlet positively related to campus involvement. Implications of the findings on the use of social media for college educators and marketers and effective reach of college students are discussed.

La normativa de tutoría electrónica de la UCA establece que las consultas de dudas que tenga el alumnado deben gestionarse a través de alguna de las herramientas de comunicación de que dispone cada asignatura en su plataforma del Campus Virtual. Como demuestra la experiencia, por razones varias, que dependen a veces de la técnica, otras de la personalidad del alumno y otras de la actuación del docente, esto no siempre ocurre. Tal situación genera tanto desajustes en la gestión de la docencia como malentendidos por parte de alumnos y docentes, lo cual supone un impacto negativo si consideramos que esta actividad está sometida a un seguimiento institucional cuyo objetivo es “estimular y facilitar la participación”. Por otro lado, exponemos la utilidad del foro de discusión como lugar para el debate de temas que o bien desarrollan o bien complementan los contenidos de las asignaturas.

This research examined the full range of tasks and activities that design engineers perform, how their working time is distributed among these, and how these issues influence their satisfaction with their work. Seventy-eight design engineers each carried a personal digital assistant (PDA) for twenty working days. Once every hour, they entered data into their PDAs concerning their current work tasks and satisfaction levels, using a work sampling approach. Work tasks were explored from multiple perspectives, yielding highly extensive and detailed results. A key finding was that design engineers' work involves considerable technical engineering work (62.92% of time) and socially collaborative work (40.37% of time). The results were discussed in terms of their implications for academic theory and organizational practice.

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo general analizar la situación del correo electrónico como fuente de prueba y su incorporación como medio probatorio en el proceso, para luego particularizar y definir algunas notas típicas del mismo dentro del proceso laboral. Se busca actualizar conceptos ya brindados al respecto y darle al lector elementos suficientes para distinguir entre los distintos tipos de "e-mails".
Que se convierta en material de consulta y herramienta útil para el operador jurídico es la finalidad del artículo, ya sea que éste necesite establecer estrategias procesales idóneas al momento de desarrollar una demanda, una contestación, o bien que deba resolver (como parte del poder judicial) peticiones de las partes sobre éste tópico.

Per valutare l'impatto di quell'e-taliano che mi è sembrato di poter additare già da qualche anno come una nuova varietà dell'italiano contemporaneo 1 , credo sia importante riflettere sulla sua diacronia. Di qui l'idea di tratteggiare un rapidissimo profilo che metta a confronto la diffusa percezione statica di questa varietà con la sua evoluzione storica, la sua narrazione mediatica con la realtà che emerge dagli studi degli ultimi vent'anni.

The alarming rate of increase in crimes has led to the invention of many security devices. In many cases the thieves escape due to the delay in passage of info to the concerned authorities such as control room. The system proposed here is for a security module with Raspberry pi using IOT by integrating webcam and motion sensor with e-mail. Whenever any motion is detected, the webcam streams a live video and the Raspberry pi device alerts the owner through an e-mail on his registered mail-id. A second level of security is included with the help of RFID tags verification. If a wrong pin is entered or if the tag isn't verified then, in either of these cases the webcam captures the intruder's image and sends it via an e-mail for real-time action to be taken by owner to prevent unauthorized access.

E-mail has become the most popular communication tool in the professional environment. Electronic communications, because of their specific nature, raise a number of ethical issues: e-mail communications are distance, asynchronous, text-based, and interactive computer-mediated communications and allow for storage, retrieval, broadcast and manipulation of messages. These specificities give rise to misunderstanding, misconduct in the absence of the interlocutors, information and mail overload, as well as privacy infringement and misuse of shared computing resources. Inexperience explains some users' unethical behavior. Other forms of unethical behavior find their roots in corporate culture, internal competition and management styles. E-businesses, as early adopters of information and communication technologies, are being particularly exposed to such behaviors, since they rely heavily on electronic communications. They should therefore assess their internal situation and develop and enforce e-mail policies accordingly.

Quello che mi riprometto di fare in questo intervento è un tentativo di sintesi: una proposta interpretativa d'insieme, che -impostata secondo un'ottica radicalmente sociolinguistica 1 -spero possa fornire qualche spunto utile alla discussione. È evidente, nel titolo, il riferimento all'ormai classico contributo di Francesco sabatini nel quale, circa trent'anni fa, si descriveva L'«italiano dell'uso medio»: una nuova realtà tra le varietà linguistiche italiane 2 .

Electronic Commerce (e-commerce) is the process of buying, selling or exchanging products, services and information via computer networks. ecommerce is part of the e-business, where the scope of e-business more broadly, not just commercial but also include business partners, customer service, job vacancies. In addition to networking technologies www, e-commerce technology also requires a database or a database (database), e-mail or electronic mail (email), and the form of non-computer technology as well as other delivery systems, and means of payment for e -Commerce. Given the electronic commerce (ecommerce) is then the customer can access and perform orders from various places. Given the current era of advanced technology is the customer who wants to access e-commerce does not have to be somewhere, it is because in the big cities in Indonesia have a lot of places that provide an internet access facility using only the laptop / notebook or by Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) using wifi technology. Thus the time is now very necessary and desirable companies to implement e-commerceservices. The use of e-commerce in Indonesia is still very limited. Il linguaggio usato nelle e-mail è solitamente stato descritto come caratterizzato da vari tratti di informalità e avvicinamento alla lingua parlata, che allontanerebbero questo tipo testuale da quello da cui esso filologicamente origina, ovvero la lettera commerciale, caratterizzata invece da una strutturazione codificata, da formule tipiche ricorrenti, da un linguaggio piuttosto formale. Questo contributo mira a verificare tali assunti prendendo ad oggetto un corpus di e-mail prodotte in una situazione comunicativa potenzialmente molto formale (e-mail di primo contatto scritte da studenti universitari di diverso grado ad un proprio docente), con l'obiettivo, da un lato, di estendere la ricerca sulla CMC ad un caso finora poco esplorato (comunicazione asimmetrica, diadica, fra sconosciuti, in ambito professionale), per documentare ambiti di resistenza di tratti di formalità e stili formali; d'altro lato, l'obiettivo è esplorare il possibile formarsi di competenze d'uso di varietà formali in soggetti scriventi presumibilmente non esperti del tipo testuale in questione.

Since the beginning of the Internet, its features have been used to communicate knowledge between researchers in different universities or scientific laboratories, and later, with the increasing growth of the World Wide Web, knowledge became a collective good shared by its users. The current investigation has three main objectives: a) to describe the professional web forum as a discursive subgenre of the web, b) to illustrate the mechanism of knowledge transmission on the professional web forums, and c) to observe the variation across languages of the professional web forum as a subgenre of the knowledge transmission process.
In the analysis of the linguistic material of the professional web forum corpus we used a theoretical framework based on different linguistic trends and theories currently developed in France.
The analysed material consists in a comparable texts corpus, organised, in five sub-corpora, in function of the language the participants in the web forums use to communicate: English, Spanish, French, Romanian, and Catalan.
The analysis of the linguistic material of the professional web forum corpus provides essential information concerning the discursive features of the knowledge transmission process in different languages.

In the current world of business, English as a Business Lingua Franca (BELF) is used in both spoken and written communication and underpinned by the paradigm of English as a Lingua Franca (ELF). While a number of research studies have been conducted exploring the spoken discourse facets of BELF users, relatively little attention has been paid hitherto to explore BELF written discourse facets, particularly, in business e-mail communication. This article examines how the BELF community discursively practices written discourse in their business e-mails. Data have been drawn from a pool of 92 e-mail messages collected from the business personnel engaged in international communications from five ready-made garments business organizations located in Bangladesh. These e-mails were exchanged between nonnative English speakers working as business personnel in the ready-made garments sector in Bangladesh and their counterparts—including both native and nonnative English speakers employed in six different countries. Applying both qualitative and quantitative content analyses, findings reveal that stylistically the components of e-mail messages are usually personalized, flexible and informal, and similar to ELF spoken discourse rather than ELF academic discourse and/or standard business letter writing. A wide range of language features have been identified in e-mails that are unique in this specific technology-based genre of communication. The awareness of these different facets of e-mail discourse has multiple implications in education.

Today very important means of communication is the e-mail that allows people all over the
world to communicate, share data, and perform business. Yet there is nothing worse than an
inbox full of spam; i.e., information crafted to be delivered to a large number of recipients
against their wishes. In this paper, we present a numerous anti-spam methods and solutions that
have been proposed and deployed, but they are not effective because most mail servers rely on
blacklists and rules engine leaving a big part on the user to identify the spam, while others rely
on filters that might carry high false positive rate.

Petronius’s debt to Ovid’s amatory works is frequently acknowledged
when discussion comes to the so-called “Croton episode”, where Encolpius’s
love affair with an aristocratic woman, named Circe, ends rather unsuccessfully
with the protagonist’s famous double sexual failure (Sat. 126.12–128.4 and
131.8–132.5). Although most scholars connect this event with the well-known
impotence theme, especially as treated by Ovid in Am. 3.7, the purpose of this
paper is to move beyond the impotentia, tracing some other, unexplored, elegiac
allusions and illusions in the whole narrative. Thus, it will become apparent that
it is Petronius’s use of erotic motifs as well as the depiction of (stock-) characters
and roleplaying that is further indebted to Ovidian discourse and poetics.

Online writing plays a complex and increasingly prominent role in the life of organizations. From newsletters to press releases, social media marketing and advertising to virtual presentations and interactions via e-mail and instant messaging, digital writing intertwines and affects the day-to-day running of the company—yet we rarely pay enough attention to it. Typing on the screen can become particularly problematic because digital text-based communication increases the opportunities for misunderstanding: it lacks the direct audiovisual contact and the norms and conventions that would normally help people to understand each other.
Providing a clear, convincing and approachable discussion, this book addresses the arenas of online writing: virtual teamwork, instant messaging, e-mails, corporate communication channels, and social media. Instead of offering do and don’t lists, however, it teaches the reader to develop a practice that is observant, reflective, and grounded in the understanding of the basic principles of language and communication. Through real-life examples and case studies, it helps the reader to notice the previously unnoticed small details, question the previously unchallenged assumptions and practices, and become a competent digital communicator in a wide range of professional contexts.

Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes dynamically forming a temporary network without the aid of any established infrastructure or centralized administration. The mobility of nodes in MANETs results in frequent changes of network topology making routing in MANETs a challenging task. Routing protocols in MANET helps node to send and receive packets. Some studies have been
reported in the literature to evaluate the performance of the proposed routing algorithms. This paper evaluates the performance of reactive (DSR) routing protocols in MANETs based on Average end-to-end delay, Throughput using OPNET 14.5. The performance DSR routing protocols is evaluated with respect to throughput and end-to-end delay under different traffic load using OPNET simulator.

Applications are spreading widely through our lives entering every field controlling some of it and enhancing other; electronic mail, or e-mail, is the best known and most popular application of the Internet. More and more people see e-mail as a way to communicate quickly and affordably. Electronic mail can also provide an advanced means of communication and enhance the recently applied e-government program. The aim of this work is to study technically the official use of e-mail for the communication between the government and citizens. This paper is mainly for proposing an e-mail exchange system that can be used to fulfill the legal requirements, and to make the usage of e-mail as official communication tool is feasible.

ABSTRACT
Advertisements are all around us, and every day we come across with dozens of advertisements in various mediums. Advertising language has a special aim which is to persuade the consumers to buy or support the product, the service or the idea being advertised. This study aims to define the attention seeking techniques being used in spam mail advertisements‟ titles. The paper focuses on the identity targeting technique, which is an important marketing strategy, especially how the text writers use the limited area of mail titles to attract attention and persuade the target to open the mail by. Our data consists of 86 mail titles chosen from 4500 Turkish advertisement mails from various companies marketing different products and services or promoting a charity campaign. The data was analyzed with a special focus on how the customer distinctiveness is evoked. It is found that the advertisers are using customers‟ personal names and personal pronouns like “you, we” very often to give the impression that they know each other. It is also found that advertisers use various strategies in order to target different groups.

The antiphishing system uses visual characteristics to identify fake and phishing sites and suspicious pages similarity to actual sites registered with the system. In the initial two sequential processes in the Site Watcher system runs on local email servers and monitors emails for keywords and suspicious URLs. The second process then compares the potential phishing pages against actual pages and assesses visual similarities between them in terms of key regions, page layouts, and overall styles. The project is a research on the Internet Utility which is mainly used for detecting the Phishing attacks which is mainly used for monitoring every popup used with another website, monitoring the authentication of every websites and use of image containing an institution's corporate logos and artwork.

As e-mail usage increases and its volume and size becomes unpredictable, there is a dire need to have richer email clients with increased ease of use. Ease of use continues to be the most significant success factor in e-mail usage. In this paper we introduce scalable features that primarily address ease of use when e-mail volume increases unprecedentedly. One feature relates to graphical e-mail content analyser and prioritizer in an e-mail system where the user can define search parameters with values and corresponding graphical images, for identifying, grouping and/or prioritizing received e-mail messages. Another feature includes a hierarchical email classification system where the user can define parameters for classifying received e-mail messages based on values like sender, e-mail id, domain, subject etc. Another feature generates a reply template by intelligent analyses of the email archive.

We can fool ourselves into thinking we are being more productive by constantly switching tasks, for example regularly reading and answering e-mail while simultaneously undertaking a possibly more intellectually demanding task such as report writing or attending a virtual meeting. However, our research has indicated that for the majority of people, that feeling of productivity is an illusion masking an actual deterioration of both work rate and quality.
