Nigeria is endowed with abundant energy resources, both conventional and renewable, whichprovide her with immense capacity to develop an effective national energy plan. However, introduction of renewable energyresources into the nation's energy mix have implications on itsenergy budget. The national energy supply system has been projected intothe future using MARKAL, a large scale linear optimization model. However, this model may not be absolutely representative of the highlynon-linear future of renewable energy. Results of the model reveal that under onlya least cost constraint, only large hydro power technology is the prominentcommercial renewable energy technology in the electricity supply mix of thecountry. Despite the immense solar energy potentials available, solar electricity generation is attractive only under severeCO2 emissions mitigation of the nation's energy supply system. Similarly, the penetration of small-scale hydro power technology in theelectricity supply mix is favoured only under CO2 emissionsconstraints. Due to economy of scale, large hydropower technology takes the lion share of all the commercial renewableenergy resources share for electricity generation under any CO2emissions constraint. These analyses reveal that some barriers exist to thedevelopment and penetration of renewable energy resources electricity production in Nigeria's energy supplysystem. Barriers and possible strategies to overcome them arediscussed. Intensive efforts and realistic approachtowards energy supply system in the country will have to be adopted inorder to adequately exploit renewable energy resources and technologiesfor economic growth and development.

In a series hybrid electric vehicle (SHEV), an electric generator feeds a dc busbar (containing an electrochemical accumulator), which, in turn, feeds the vehicle traction system. A very important part of the vehicle is its control system that has to maximize the vehicle efficiency, while keeping the emissions within predetermined limits. To attain this goal it can act in two ways: it can switch the electric generator ON or OFF, or when in ON state, it can impose a given power to be delivered. To choose the control actions to perform it needs: an algorithm to understand the behavior of the battery (determine the state-of-charge, maximum power, losses) and an algorithm to make some forecast of the system load (i.e., the power required in the future of the trip, as a function of time). This paper discusses the main problems arising when trying to synthesize the control system of the vehicle, keeping into particular account the second two issues. Some lab tests are also presented, in which some of the proposed controlled techniques are experimentally checked.

Network analysis technique was used in this study to establish the optimal duration and labour cost of overhauling ABB type 13D gas turbine in Nigeria as well as the critical jobs that required adequate management attention/supervision in order to check corrupt upward review of project cost that characterized this sector resulting from intentional delays in the execution of turbine overhauling projects in this country. Results showed one thousand, two hundred and forty- three (1243) hours or approximately 155.38 days (at 8 working hours per day) and four million, twelve thousand and five hundred

Energy sector growth in India has been significant, even for the electricity generation from renewable sources. This report will give you a detailed overview about the current and future energy demand in India and the policy transformation to achieve the target demand in future. Considering the energy sectors and the socioeconomic factor such as population, energy efficiency, mobility and consumer behaviour that will affect directly or indirectly for the demand generation in 2040. The report gives a detail review on the current and future policy and the refection of the policies on grassroots level. The report also includes the political concepts to deal the demand nationally and internationally by considering the business as usual and ambitious target set by the Government of India. The report also highlights each sectorial demand and how policy transformation is going on to tackle the bottlenecks in future.

Practical applications of microbial fuel cells (MFCs) for wastewater treatment will require operation of these systems over a wide range of wastewater temperatures. MFCs at room or higher temperatures (20–35°C) are relatively well studied compared those at lower temperatures. MFC performance was examined here over a temperature range of 4–30°C in terms of startup time needed for reproducible power cycles,

The increasing interest in the recuperation of the biogas coming from organic residues, associated with its energetic use is a subject that has been widely discussed. Biogas was merely seen as a sub-product obtained from anaerobic decomposition (without oxygen) of organic residue. In the paper is carried out an evaluation of the quantities of organic residues coming out from the sugar and alcohol industry (vinasse), urban solid and liquid wastes (garbage and sewage) and livestock residues (bovine and swine manure) in Brazil. Finally the electricity generation potential of biogas out of the evaluated sources of organic residues in Brazil is estimated. The results of this study indicate that the potential regarding the production of biogas out of the aforementioned organic residues of electricity production using could meet an energy demand of about 1.05 to 1.13 %. Constraints for biogas energy utilization are identified and discussed.
