- March 4, 1986 – AWA Television: Sean Michaels defeated Buddhakhan.
- ~~~In his introduction, “Sean” Michaels was billed as last year’s Central States Wrestling Rookie of the Year.
- Ian R. Wilz wrote: I was watching an episode of AWA wrestling on ESPN Classics and they happened to have Shawn Michaels (spelled Sean) debut match in AWA one year after he began wrestling and prior to him forming the Rockers with Marty Jannetty. In his introduction he was billed as last years Central States Wrestling Rookie of the Year. Later on the same show they did a sit down with Larry Zbyszko, where they took a look at Marty Jannetty and then Jannetty came out for an interview and talked about his aerial moves and talked about how him and his friend Michaels were going to form a team called the US Express. – – On the same show, Scott Hall defeated Doug Somers.

- ~~~Neidhart had been fired and was filling contractual obligations, which including jobbing the titles to another team.
- ~~~During the match, the top rope broke causing a bit of confusion and the Rockers winning the match.
- ~~~The Rockers defended the titles for a week after that, but then Neidhart was re-hired by the WWF.
- ~~~Vince McMahon decided that the title change never actually happened.
- ~~~To explain, a story was sent to Pro Wrestling Illustrated about the rope break causing an “unfair working environment”.
- ~~~The title reign was annulled, and forgotten.
- ~~~The title change was edited out of the Main Event broadcast, and thus went down in history that the Rockers never had the belt.
